5 minutes with http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/europe/standings/index.html and this is where we're at:

                   P  GD  Pts
France         5     1   10
Bosnia          5    6   9
Russia           4   5    9
Slovakia        4    2   9
Hungary       4    2   7
Switzerland   4    1   7
Scotland      5    -2   7
Ireland         4    1    6
Croatia         3    0   4

Bottom team misses out on the play offs.

Should be fun - everyone in Scotland supporting England in their game against Croatia in September

Because Scotland's group only has 5 teams, the points total of all the other second place finishers will not include matches against the teams that finished 6th in their group, so almost certainly you will have to deduct 6 points from all the teams totals.

For a team like the Republic of Ireland, they would benfit from Montenegro finishing bottom as they only drew with them so would have less points deducted than if Georgia finish bottom who they have beaten twice - make sense

Personally i think that Iceland should be ok

Yeah i know that, i was just trying to point out that teams points will change depending on who finishes bottom of their group.

Nice and confusing from FIFA again.

Fairy muff, although the wooden spoon in each group looks to be pretty much decided bar group 8 and to a lesser extent for these purposes, group 4.

England beating Croatia would be a big help...
