Why should the big high street chains offer an incentive on National day ... there will be queues in every bookies up and down the country as every mug/housewife/once a year flutter person, has their few bets.
Those sort of people wouldnt have a scooby about shopping around for a bit of extra value... Bookies want plenty of volume and bets spread right across the field.

If anyones thinking of backing any horse EW in the National. dint bet at William Hills, Ladbrok es or Corals, they are only paying out if your horse finishes in the first 4. other bookmakers will pay you out if your horse finishes in the first 5. Boyelsports are paying out the first 6 on internet bets
sporting odds refund the stakes if your horse finishes 6th.
I can't believe betfred, the tote, willy hills, laddies and Corals continue to offer such a poor service to their customers. It's the same every year.
i can understand a lot of punters who only ever have a bet on the national just going to there nearest bookie and not be bothered, a few will be very disappointed
when there horse is 5 or 6Th, very few internet punters with a few accounts be betting with, hills ,corals or ladbrokes, very rare i back with them myself,

I know of one person who would not have been on as he doesn't rate Venetia Williams or think that Mon Mome stays.

love the interview with the owner. her horse wins the national at 100/1 and it turns out she was watching the wrong horse for half the race

My neighbour Siobhan called in about 2 races ago. We've been sat having the old glass of wine whilst watching the races.
15 minutes before the off, a bit tipsy, she saw the list up and said "Put a fiver on Mon Mone".
"Ummmm, Siobhan, the horse is 100/1. Maybe 2.50 each way would be a better idea because there's every chance it'll place, but sweet feck all chance it'll win."
"OK, go on then. 2.50 each way."
So I placed the bet giggling mad at her wasted money. Sigh. GG WP
