As most of you are aware, some blonde members have received PM's from cloned accounts, asking for $ transfers on various poker sites.

As of now, there is a change in the privileges of all new members. No new member will have the facility to send PM's until they reach 10 previous posts on the forum, we hope this will allow the blonde Mods a chance to identify and ban these accounts before anyone gets grimmed.

But of course we still ask people to be vigilant, and if someone PMs you asking for a transfer - please check and double-check that it is the person you think it is.  Check their profile to see the number of posts they've made, when they registered, etc.

Ultimately, you are responsible for any transfer you make - so make sure you're not being grimmed.

Is 10 enough?

Obv 10 is better than none though..

seems a tad light to me.

We thought about setting 3331 as the limit, but thought better of it. For now

If a new member comes on to the forum and posts those 10 posts in an evening, that will raise more flags than someone posting over a few days (In my opinion).

This countermeasure isn't designed in itself to stop all members getting grimmed, it's just a tool that the mods can use to help in any way that we can - by hopefully weeding out suspect members.

The only real, effective countermeasure, is for members to be ever vigilant themselves, by checking posting history, membership joining dates, and asking around before sending any $.

If still in doubt, -  don't send your hard earned cash to a total stranger!

10 should be plenty.  It's to prevent someone signing up, and immediately sending PMs.  If they quickly post 10 nonsense posts on the board, then anyone can see that and realise there's something up.  If they take their time to reach the 10, then it'll give the mods time to see the new accounts and stop them before they get a chance to grim.

Of course, someone might still get through so everyone should be careful and check before sending anything to anyone.  If in doubt, don't.

the requirements for asking for staking should definately be a LOT higher than 300 posts, and the requirements for offering staking should be whatever post count people have. People should be able to give their money away whenever they want!  Also i think that all trade deals should 100% be made in the open in the trading thread. Its not like the volume of trade requests is so high that it would make it a messy scenario. No trade deals through PMs, no requesting stakes if you've not been a member for 1000 posts/1 year sounds about right.

Also I saw a thread where people got insulted because they applied for stakes whilst not contributing a correct % of rake to the blonde cardroom, so maybe you should amend the rules to acknowledge the fact that if you dont generate enough rake for blonde, you cant apply for stakes without people insulting you?
