Easy pass, or too nitty?

playing a laydeeees only game yesterday, and it's become a bit of a crapshoot. 48 remain from 85 starters and average stack is 10k with blinds at 400/800 (no ante). I've just been moved to my fourth table, played a couple of rounds, but not really enough to get a feel for the dynamics. Passed round to my button and I raise to 2k from my average stack with
. SB passes and BB with 50k declares 'all in'. I debated for a while, and eventually passed, but can't help thinking that it should have been a call with the structure of the tournament.
I'm also thinking now that I should have shoved pre, as, after passing to the raise, I'd be leaving myself with a push or fold stack once the blinds went up anyhow.

DOH...didn't see the "MY average stack line"...was too busy thinking "How the hell can you fold to such a massive over bet?...it's only a girl you're playing FFS!"

You have 12bb's in a crap shoot game and pick up 9-9 on the button in an unopened pot. Isn't this a dream scenario? Standard raise here knowing you will snap the jam....actually hoping for the jam imo. With a 12bb average the blinds really don't need 10's+ to jam a crap shoot button raise here. This is clear hand in the air time. Nitting up in a crap shoot makes no sense babe.

Just don't fold, open shoving the button is +ev. Opening to 2k and snap calling the shove is probably better.

Standard raise is much better than shove. More than half the field still remain and open pushing an average stack is a serious consideration. This tells us we need lots more chips right now. Tempting the blinds to release the steam by pushing a wide range and giving us a full double up is a chance we really wanna take right now. A 25k stack gets us bossing the table...another 1.2k gets us what? Important point is don't raise here without knowing you snap or you may as well open fold.

Disagree with this. My wife still hasn't found the courage to play live but I think she would in a women only event
