women only tourneys seem to be held in more friendly/relaxed atmos.


would have to disagree with this actually George - some woman shouted at me yesterday for touching her chips when I was buying them up before the chip race 'what the f*** are you doing' and the bitching behind peoples backs during the breaks was horrendous!  You'll often find at these events that a lot of women who are used to being one of only one or two in a field of men suddenly think that they must be way better than the rest of the field because it's women only (probably because the guys they've played with have told them they'll have a huge edge on the field, because they can play a bit).

I've not played a women's tournament for a bit and don't think I'll be in a hurry to play another one anytime soon.  If I were giving advice to your wife, I'd say a low buy in regula comp at a friendly casino would be much more welcoming.
