I just dont get twitter and facebook. Load of childish attention seeking rubbish. No offence x

I reckon a fair few of the 600 million active users on facebook might disagree with you on that one.

I think its worth being on just so old friends or whatever can get in touch and its well handy if you lose your phone or that to get old numbers back easily.

No idea what twitter is about but have decided to join the revolution.

Not sure where childish or attention seeking comes into it. Sign Up!

Seems an absolute load of drivel to me. Got no interest in reading people updating what they are having for Sunday lunch or "Rebecca is still recovering from last night, thanks girls was great" Oh was it? Wow at least Rebecca had a good night haha

A load of rubbish imo. The fact that 600million people disagree with me just makes me convinced that im totally right, each to their own...

Twitter seems like a place for medicore poker players that are used to running like the sun, to complain about running bad.

God knows what normal people would use it for? Updating us on their Sunday Lunch preferences no doubt

Nothing wrong with a bit of facebook perving when you're getting over a hangover.

Don't use it for anything other than that though tbf.

Twitter is pretty good way to get breaking news especially with regard to sport.  From that perspective it is good from a punting perspective and would have thought you would have been into it Dubai?

I can see how annoucments from companies/businesses could be beneficial for both parties. Just dont get how personal twitter accounts are worthwhile to normal people? It seems a good place to update chip counts/moan for poker players obviously

Kinda but twitter is more personal so is good for rumour and opinion too.  As we saw with the Giggs issue people are more likely to say things on Twitter than in official news sources.  I was very sceptical at first but I am really coming around to it.  95% is trash and pointless of course but the good is worth shifting through.  A good example of how I use it is to get an idea of how a pitch is likely to perform in a cricket match from journo's/fans at the ground before the game and of course if you can't find what you want you can always ask and often will get a response from someone who you wouldn't have access to normally.  Wish Hawkins was here to explain this better as he uses it a lot and probably gets more out it than me.....

OK this is definitely interesting and having access to first hand info from Journalists at sport events has got to have far more substance than Liv Boree complaining that top pair didnt hold with 2700 people left in a tournament.

Am going to Hampshire tomoro for Essex game, wouldnt mind a local tweeting about the weather and saving me a trip Smiley

I'd agree with that.

Also makes access to people you wouldn't normally hear from a lot easier. I don't use twitter myself, but I like to check certain statuses online as they're normally full of interesting info etc.

Plus it's a great way to waste a few hours at work.
