One from Peter Cook,

If the giraffe could leap, pound for pound, as high as the grasshopper, they could avoid a lot of trouble.

More electrons flow through a lightbulb in one second than water molecules go over Niagra Falls in one year.

A googol is 1 followed by 100 zeros. A googolplex is 1 googol to the power 10. If you started writing a googolplex now the sun would have burnt out before you finish.

If every zero in a googolplex was a sphere of volume 1cm x 1cm x 1cm there would not be enough space in the universe to write a googolplex out.

All the words ever spoken by mankind ever is approx. 10 to the power 18. (give or take a power!)

Did you count Keith Moon?

Daphne Moon fae Frasier and Alfie Moon fae Eastenders don't count as they are fictional characters.

The same applies for Button Moon.

American colonies actually declared their independence from the British empire on July 2, 1776. However, this declaration was not approved until July 4, 1776. Only two founding fathers signed the declaration that day: John Hancock and Charles Thomson. John Adams wrote, "The 2nd of July will be a memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival."

The names of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were withheld from the public until 1777, because their treasonable act would result in death if the Revolution were unsuccessful. Nonetheless, five signers were captured by the British and brutally tortured as traitors. Nine fought in the War for Independence and died from wounds or from hardships they suffered. Two lost their sons in the Continental Army. Another two had sons captured, and the British pillaged and burned the homes of at least a dozen of the fifty-six signers.

The noisiest land animal on this earth is the Howler Monkey. Their screechy calls can be heard over 2 miles away.

I disagree with the dogs looking up one.

Easy way to settle this one, someone ask their dog what colour the ceiling is.

I might not have thought this one through.

Lobsters are blue or black when alive.

It is possible to hypnotise a lobster.

Stewardesses and reverberated are the two longest words (12 letters each) that can be typed using only the left hand; the longest word that can be typed using only the right hand is lollipop; Skepticisms is the longest word that alternates hands.

A duck's quack doesn't echo

Facetious and abstemious contain all the vowels in the correct order

Cat's urine glows under a black light.

The airplane Buddy Holly died in was the "American Pie."

The dial tone of a normal telephone is in the key of "F".
