Fleeing the nest....Please Help

Right finally moving out of the rents house into a flat(about time-though for the 2nd time in my defense) and was thinking it would be a doddle to get it furnished cheaply;
basically i'm thinking yaldi- a bed, some flooring, a couch and away we go but now i'm starting to seriously look into things and everything is adding up, from curtains to ironing boards to hoovers to cutlery....you get the drift.
But does anyone know the best places to get things cheap; online or otherwise(glasgow)
Thinking the majority I will be getting IKEA'd out my nut but does anyone know of better alternatives, or where I can get decent quality appliances etc?
Or basically anything at all for a new home-i'm basically going in with my clothes and laptop and thats it! AND it really is low cost stuff i'm looking for

Try your local auction rooms.Everythig from 3 piece suites to kettles.
Much cheapness.

Auction rooms and IKEA for big things. Maybe eBay if you can arrange transport. Also Shogun runs an online furniture store, might wanna PM him.
For little things like Toasters, Cutlery et al I would check IKEA prices and ASDA/Tesco superstores. They tend to run cheap lines of things like this.
Pots and Pans I would also look at places like Wilkinsons, Poundland, Aldi, Netto etc etc.

IKEA is evil.
You can go to the ASDA and all that for your little things (plates, cutlery, kettles etc)
Also look "under the arches"..I think that's what it's called anyways...it's well...in the arches underneath the railway. You probs know where it is anyways. Good carpet and laminate shops there and fairly cheap.

You can get toasters, kettles, microwaves, etc. from Asda or Tesco for very little. Argos is your friend as well - especially for cheap bedroom furniture (the quality isn't the best, but it is cheap).

My Brother in law works for Comet and was telling me about a clearance warehouse in Pollock (I think?) where they sell slighty damaged stuff, the damage can range from Mangled to very slight scratch, just depends on what in the store, you can either visit it, or bid for items on thier web site:
http://www.clearance-comet.co.uk/
I told a mate in work about it, and he got a cracking Washing machine for about £90 with a medium sized scratch on the side.

Tricky to explain....I can walk there but have no idea how to get other people to go there....actually;
If you go from Citycentre towards cincin...you pass cincin and take the first to your right...after a while you will be walking underneath the railbridge/railroad..whatever it's called.
Turn left there and there are these little shops. Litterally underneath the railbridge. Little arch shaped stores. You can't really miss it...it's just a bastard to explain exactly what it looks like.
