Bought the new PES yesterday and it's doing my head in.
The management side of things is awesome, you now use £££ rather than points and there is alot more features.
However the game play is very frustrating, its almost FIFA like..
The penalities make no sense, the crosses go where the computer decides not where you decide, which makes stuff like switching the ball etc very difficult. Also every shot seems to hit the target regardless of what you do.
The players also don't seem to be able to outpace people, the gameplay just isn't as smooth as the older ones and there's just no fun in this one, it seems to all be about passing and using other buttons except pass sprint and shoot to play.
In the older ones Obafemi Martins or Eto'o would be able to use blistering pace to score goals, however every player seems to be around about the same speed.
I have been a pro ev fan through and through since I bought PES2. However this one is such a letdown and I find the games boring and frustrating to play.
I would almost go as far as saying I would buy FIFA, however that is just a kids game...

Yup, Me and Brent have had this discussion earlier.
Basically the same as what your saying really.
My argument was that the old Pro Evo was too easy with the like of Martins/Messi/Ronaldo/Kaka etc. Whereas the new 1 is more about playing football and passing and other stuff.
Just depends what your looking for in the game really.
Most annoying thing is that some of the strikers cant outpace defenders when they obv should be able to.
I think maybe the new 1 is tougher vs the computer and is better game to be playing vs the computer,(as it used to be far too easy on the last Pro Evo), But if your playing with mates then the old one is better and more enjoyable.
Maybe just need to get used to the new 1 though and give it time.

Sack It Off, you have nailed it so hard.
I don't like FIFA, i've always been a huge Pro Evo loyalist, but this version is no fun! you can't beat players, theres no skills you can do, and you can't outpace defenders, even with the fastest players in the world.
This version is trying to be just like fifa, its slow and the gameplay is crap.
old one FTW.

True, it is more of a challenge, I usually play on Top Player but I'm playing on Professional difficulty on this one.
Do you prefer the new one to the old ones? I couldn't tell by your last post as you just said you preferred it against the computer but what is your opinion overall?
For me I preferred the fast pace of the old pro ev, you could really sprint and change direction to beat players, however on the new one I havn't managed to beat a man yet:(

Need to give it time really and will decide then.
Atm, enjoying Champions League in new 1 and will prob start a Master League at some point.
Vs mates and other stuff, would prob have to go for the old one at the moment.

Another flaw I have discovered..
I use to love Master League with default players, it's what gets you so good at the game cos you are forced to play with shit players and work it up.
Now you arn't forced to start in the lower leagues, and depending on which club you choose the more money you have, that sucks cos the challenge was not having money, but now I know its possible to start with more money I can't bring myself to start this Master League now.
ANOTHER THING that has pissed me off is that they have taken from FIFA how players ability changes depending on where you play them. So if you play Owen on the wing he because really crap.
But this just isn't realistic at all... If you played Beckham at centre back does that mean he loses his crossing ability??? NOPE
If you play a player OOP the game should be realistic enough for the players attributes not to be as effective in the match.
So if you were to play Owen on the wing he doesn't get worse, his ability to score goals and pace arn't used as effectively.

OMG I come back with more rants about PES2010
I am sick to death of how slow it is for a player to pass the ball. WTFFF
When you hit X for them to pass, it is literally 4 seconds before they choose to pass, its tilting my fucking brains out. You press the X button and he passes it but by the time he has got the ball away an opposition player is there to intercept.
And whats worse is that you press X and you don't think it has worked, so you press it again, and then if it gets to the player you are trying to pass to he just passes it into nowhere because it thinks thats what you have asked for.

I'm going to have to:(
Does FIFA still have that feature where players overall ability decrease if you play them OOP?

I must confess also that I've played Pro since it was then known as ISS and this is the first year that I feel Fifa may have overtaken it. (Last year was marginal in my opinion).
I feel that Pro are trying to get too much into the graphics and are forgetting about the gameplay that once made them such great games, whereas Fifa has completely overhauled theirs in recent years and to be honest I find it to be better these days.
Just my two cents anyways.
