Just thought it was about time I registered as i have been reading this forum for months now and have not contributed. I'd just like to take a moment to say what a fantastic forum this is, and what a great sense of community there is here. In particular the topic by Rob Yong on the WSOP was absolutely fantastic and a pleasure to read!

I am 20 years old and have been playing poker of sorts since i was 16, starting with 5 card draw, and then moving onto hold'em which i have been playing for 2/3 years. I play regularly on Will Hill, usually $20 STT's and when i have time MTT's. I did start playing cash but quickly found out what a bad beat can do to you on a cash table! I play twice a week in home games with mates, some good players, some really bad. And my local casino is the Luton Grosvenor which i play usually once a month on the tuesday or saturday £10 rebuys.......

..........bored of my poker life story yet??

However i have reached a point now in my short and undistinguished career (one 1st, one 2nd on will hill mtt's and one 5th at Luton), where i am stuck where to turn. I know i am not a bad player, but i have a lot to learn. My strengths are my discipline and patience and my weakness maybe lack of aggression at times. I'm fed up of going to the rebuys @ Luton and not being able to play poker for the rebuy section because of '' all in'' ''all in blind'' for an hour and a half and ending up waxing up to £100. If you hit cards get/ lucky then you can enter the rebuys with chips if not, you enter with a rebuy and an add on. Hardly teaching the rookies poker, just feeding the pot for the players with the bigger bankroll/experience! So the question is i think i should start playing £50/£100 freezeouts, but is this above my league or too much for a rookie to play for? I think this may make me a better player though.

Cheers Frenchy

With the experience you list there is no reason not to play a £50 or even a £100 freezeout. I wouldn't say it would be above anyone who has played for 6 months or so.

Welcome

we have probably played each other at Luton, and I understand totally where you are coming from regarding the rebuy parts of those torunaments

If you are interested in the £50 or so freezeouts, which I think would be well within your compass having read your poker story, then Luton provides these on Monday's and Wednesday's now. Not a lunatic in sight, well not a lunatic who can rebuy anyway!!

Hi. Welcome to Blonde.

Regarding the freezouts, it's a difficult situation. Feel free to have a crack at the £50 or £100 freezouts, but don't play above your comfort level.

Just shows how vital Rob's £30 freezout out at Gala Notts is.

Bonjour Moneieur!  I would absolutely reccomend playing freezeouts . Rebuy tournies are mental unless they are big buyins . Much more to be gained from playing a £50 or a £100 freezeout IMHO. Luton have started a £50 on wednesdays wich I have yet to play in but wil do shortly . I would start there .

Warm welcome to Blonde and good luck.
