Thats ridiculous. Now you are styling things to suit you. You didnt say 'in a botanical sense'. In a culinary sense and in most peoples minds they see cucumber as a vegetable. Culinary sense is all im interested in. Same as most normal people. You cannot fail cucumber and marrow that is just wrong because they are eaten as vegetables, the basis on which the question should be asked.

Make your questions clearer next time this is a major farce lol

now that's an excellent objection. you did indeed fail many culinary vegetables. quetion did not specify botanical vegetables, there is a difference

I did not fail any one of you for 'loose vs. pre-pack'.  You were failed because anything with seeds which must be 'picked' from a main plant body is botanically a fruit.  Culinary crowd may call them a veg, but they are wrong.

Love ya chicka but you lost the plot on this quiz   Wink

the question was :

Name a vegetable that can be bought as 1 loose item in Sainsbury's

So if Sainsbury's sell it as a vegetable it should be a pass!!

I cannot be expected to hand feed the answers to you.  It was a very straight forward question using plain English.  Not my fault so many of you had food on the brain from the last question and came up with a culinary answer.

+1

QM did not specify the terms, you cannot fail cucumber and marrow to suit your needs.

the marrow link gives a botanical not a culinary justification too

This is utterly ludicrous if not allowed

We eat them as vegetables and that is what they are sold as so that should be the answer!

But you can be expected to give a straight question, not hide half of it until the reveal!
