Massachusets is a commonwealth not a state.

Are you seriously questioning a Yank about a US State?  GG.  WP

I have taken serious consideration of the arguments put forward regarding cucumber and marrow.  I am not 100% convinced this is the right thing, however me and myself agreed...even if I didn't.  So those two are a pass.  Scores revised please.

I did not fail any one of you for 'loose vs. pre-pack'.  You were failed because anything with seeds which must be 'picked' from a main plant body is botanically a fruit.  Culinary crowd may call them a veg, but they are wrong.

Love ya chicka but you lost the plot on this quiz   Wink

the question was :

Name a vegetable that can be bought as 1 loose item in Sainsbury's

So if Sainsbury's sell it as a vegetable it should be a pass!!

According to sainsbury's online  the Butternut squash is a "exotic vegetable"  so pass imo

Uh oh, submitted. But I thought by "ireland" you meant the island. Oh dear.

ps. what is a 'vegetable'?

# edible seeds or roots or stems or leaves or bulbs or tubers or nonsweet fruits of any of numerous herbaceous plant

Question 12.

Anyone brave enough to put down someone who hasn't but might today and then be prepared to shout farce when they do and its disallowed becouse they did before Dawn said they should.

The term "vegetable" generally means the edible parts of plants. The definition of the word is traditional rather than scientific, however, and therefore the usage of the word is somewhat arbitrary and subjective, as it is determined by individual cultural customs of food selection and food preparation.

Mushrooms belong to the biological kingdom Fungi, not the plant kingdom, and yet they are also generally considered to be vegetables, at least in the retail industry

You did not state "scientific". Mind you you did not state 'local catholic interpretation' for counties in Ireland also
