I ran supergood whenever I was all in - racing legs were working!  Ling played really well (and gets to do it a total of three times if it all goes according to plan) including totally convincing me to ch-r double her up with second pair when she flopped top... Anyhow it was a rollercoaster (I don't want to use the word Random) when the blinds got bigger.  Lots of fun!  I have learned that threes are the nuts and I shouldn't ever bluff India... everyone was pretty chilled out all the way through, which in itself was a minor miracle as the studio was in sauna-like conditions.  Anyone playing later heats - no hoody needed.  Cheers for support!  I need a drink!

Anyone who knocks women's poker should watch that heat.

Very high standard in my opinion. Barely a hand passed without a raise. Jen ran good but played good too and while we were all celebrating in the green room when she won, everyone also felt bad for Ling who played great also and lost the key flip to win it.

Rooks also looked pretty upset understandably.

I hope Ling canes the runner up heat as her play today deserves a place in the final imo.

For now though WD JEN!!!!!!

GOGOGOGO in the final!

GOGOGOGO in the final!

did you see the HU hands? the play was atrocious.  They were limping buttons with 9/2os and filth like that. Put it another way, if some of those hands were posted on the PHA section, they would be ridiculed beyond belief and met with numerous 'hilarious' check boxes.

highlight surely being:

Quote
Heads up chip counts

Collins 421k
Mason 179k

jen raises to 25k with KdJs and collins calls with 9c6c

flop QdJd9s and Collins bets 40k and Mason is all in and Collins folds.

flat it with that 9 high, flop a pair,  bet to find out where ur at, and fold to a raise.

You post that in PHA and you will 100% get everyone saying how "terrible" it is.

Its fine to compliment things when they deserve complimenting, but theres no point complimenting things just for sake of complimenting.

Hey Totalise.

Aisling knows she made mistakes HU as when she asked, I told her. I'm sorry but I don't see her asking for your opinion anywhere and I don't see this on the PHA thread so why do you have to open your little mouth.

Why don't you get off this thread if you are just going to ridicule/dig at someone that hasn't said a word to you. She played great and her most inexperienced game is HU. I knew when she got HU with Jen that it would be tough for this reason.

Dear Totalise,

Many thanks for your observations; it is and has always been my intention to learn from this experience and i am well aware that i mangled a few hands in the heat of the moment.

However, I am disappointed that you chose this thread to try and ridicule me. This thread should be devoted to congratulating Jen, not attempting to belittle someone who you clearly have issues with - although your reasons are beyond me....

If you would like to offer some pointers over my play, please do via PM that way i can review them at leisure?

I for one would like to congratulate Jen on her fantastic play. GG sweetie.

Just to add to that...

I watched every hand of the heat and it was of a very high standard imo. I know that lots is said about Women's' only events but I must say this is an event that I really look forward to. The standard gets better every Year and I hope it provides a launch pad for someones poker career this Year, Jen certainly deserves it.

Totalise..you can trawl through every hand in the heat, and sure you will find mistakes, as you would in any game but that's the beauty of poker and when you are put under the intensity of the TV cameras, those mistakes are magnified beyond belief. It takes a special character to be unfazed by the pressure and if you have never played on TV you should really try and give it a go (regardless what you think of any structure). Winning on TV must be one of the biggest buzzes out there.

The spirit that this event is played in is a joy to watch (something us men could probably learn from!).

There were hands where mistakes were made for sure, but overall if u watch all the hands with hole cards it was very impressive. None of the girls played badly as a whole. I have seen EPT heads up finals that weren't played as well as this.

I think Jen had the edge in the heads up, but having said that she won or split 2 big 50/50 hands where if she had lost either, Ling would have won, so Ling definitely deserves a load of credit for putting herself in a great position to win.

I agree with you about handing out praise for no reason, but I was genuinely impressed with the standard. If it had been bad you can guarantee Annette would have been ripping into the girls and overall Annette said she was surprised at how aggressive and unrelenting the play was.
