Boycott would have scored quicker than those tossers

20/20 cricket = turbo SNG
quite, shove it in please. None of this smallball crap which outside the top two batsmen we did
and as for the fielding...yuk
Why the fk do we play this game? we are light years behind the top teams in 20-20...such a half hearted approach
Why are we so bad, we invented the format less than a decade ago and it didn't take off internationally until the last couple of years. We surely should have an edge tactically and experience wise.
I rarely remember being this angry about cricket, it is just such a bad performance from every angle. To think I was looking forward to the Ashes as well.

Sadly I agree, an invention of Sky's imagination. Score a very quick 100 in a very small ground against a poor county side live on sky and suddenly he is England 1 day saviour, I have my doubts.
Might as well be given a chance to sink or swim, given what we have just seen.

I just couldn't believe the team selection. We were playing 3 players (Shah, Key and Sidebottom) that we had to hide in the field. Rashid for Swann was scandalous.

Yeah i am agreeing with you really mate, just saying he isn't the saviour that Nasser Hussain seems to think he is.

See no reason why he couldnt do both. He says on sky what needs to happen and someone makes it happen. Also I think he'd be up for the challenge. I dont think you make it to the top level of anything if your happy on cushy numbers - he made it to the top level of cricket.

Looks like we're going to have to invent another form of the game to try and get an edge.
I suggest something using tennis balls, golf clubs and those huge foam hands.

a lot of countries have embraced 20-20, and play a lot more of it when you take into account their domestic games and IPL, where hardly any English cricketers play
most of our administrators detest it, and try to milk it as a cash cow. We haven't spent time, money etc on seperate 20-20 coaching, skills and tactics as its still regarded as "pyjama cricket" Our traditionalism kills our chances in the format
All eleven have to be able to field, you need at least three pinch hitters per team and fast medium stuff on a length/short of a length gets killed
quick bowlers have to be able to have a good slower ball and drop yorkers on a spot. Our quicks were banging it in short of a length most of the time

So...erm...how did todays game end?
Now Holland have beaten the Scots (whom admittedly are shit at all sports) and the English (erm...see the Scots but add "overhyped" in all sports)....and I reckon we only have 12 people who play cricket in Holland
