I thought I would point out how good my mum is, take a look at this for a birthday cake, its a foot thick pavlova all home made stuffed with choclate whipped cream strawberrys and kiwi fruit.
I have put her phone next to it for size comparison, Red could;nt dent it in one sitting

It looks pretty fab to me - but that might be an appreciation of how nice it must have tasted rather than it's actual looks. I'd tend to keep the meringue all at the bottom for pavlova's for presentation purposes. I'd do something like this for yours  With the Kiwi's interspersed with the strawberries and the chocolate on top of the meringue base |
