Villain is decent TAG, running 23/21/3 with a 8% 3b over a chunky sample. We have little history this session. He views me as spewy lag, but hasnt played me for a while.

Check and hope he shoves? If not, can always lead the river?...

i weak lead 175 and hope that induces the shove from worse. Perfect bet size as it leaves plenty room for fold equity, but then gives you shove equity on the end with a pot sized bet

u are prepared to go all theway with ur hand i assume?

How much do you think he's going to bet on turn Neil? Surely we might as well get the last bit in now

You have to make it look bluffy, he thinks your spewy, shove.

I would assume that if he is behind, he has a nut flush draw or an underpair, as KQ doesnt seem likely given his 3 betting range.  The only big mistake he can make is putting you on air, so I would just push, it isnt that much of an overbet.

The point is simple but deep. If you've become a solid, post-flop player, you want to play as many hands as possible. ... It's a myth that the best post-flop players are wildly aggressive, ... Mike Caro's great line ("aggression is rarely wrong in poker and when it is, it isn't wrong by much") still

As you have some history is he going to find you checking this turn card suspicious ?

If he thinks you are spewy he can call your 4-bet quite wide and shoving might get him to fold out some hands. Leading turn and hoping he shoves sounds like a good line to me.

ok, the guy had AA, i jammed turn and he held. afterwards i did wonder if i had taken a line that minimises value against a likely range of QQ-1010, but with the pot so big and trying to look as bluffy as possible, i think jamming the turn is probably best.

Turn action for maximum monies.....

Not that i know what I am talking about but my view is as follows:

Pre flop: Seems ok, I guess i would call more often than 4 betting for domination value deep (i.e. if he has aq and you 4 bet u prob aint getting action, whereas if u flat and play it fast on almost all boards you hit then i think you can confuse your opponent into doing something spewy/stupid) but 4 betting is ok

Flop: Flop bet size looks perfect to me

Turn: bout 850 in pot and you have about 600 back? I honestly think vs anyone who isnt a total clown (you said this guy is decent reg) that anything other than a shove on the turn is really really horrible. Reason being that he will check behind everything you beat on the turn. He is never floating with total air obviously, and so checking has no good points to it whatsoever in this hand as far as i see it.

Also, if u do check turn, and he checks behind with 99-qq, and then you shove the river then you look so huge that i dont see him ever calling 99-qq or kq on the river once u shove river after checking turn. whereas if u shove the turn then it looks alot more bluffy and weaker, and he mite not fold 99-qq and stuff

Shoving is fine, because he might make a loose call with 88-qq thinking maybe you have a flush draw, or maybe you are just following a bluff all the way through and trying to represent the ak or AA/kk
