Teach English in China yo

That's a good suggestion - Japan or Korea are other options too.  You've left it too late to get on some of the schemes that are well-organised, but there are still jobs for you if you go off your own back.  Great experience.

I've a mate wot does it. (although obv he ain't taught the English to me yet)

As well as full board and that and a bit of a wage, he gets lessons in calligraphy, meditation, kung fu and cookery.

He doesn't get Full Tilt points though, I get Full Tilt points that I can exchange for golf umbrellas. That's almost the same

lol, theres a couple of sites iv seen that advertise teaching english, coaching sports, building schools/housing etc while living with locals - they definitely seem like a good idea. i think i might be a bit late for the long-term paid positions but some of the shorter (1 or 2 month) schemes seem pretty cool. im well up for the idea of living with locals, probably the best way to experience the country imo

You are having a giraffe mate. How the fk can living with the locals be the best way? You will be in some tin hut some where with fk all to do and crap to eat. Have a quick fly over in a chopper by all means then retire back to some 5 star luxury in a top hotel.
Honestly the yoofs today.

I had an amazing year in Australia a couple of years back - only issue at mo is its hard for English Gap Years to get work - lots of people I met at 21-25 have come home early in last few months.  If ytou do make it, Crown Casino was pretty soft.

Personally, take you lappy, get to Thailand - and if you can play grind away and live like a king if you can back £20 a day

Exactly, never get a permit in Aus anyway at this short notice and a Balla apartment in Thailand is only £80 a month. You can get a live in hooker for board n lodge a fireblade for peanuts and even grenade a cow for £50.
