Let's assume I'm playing blackjack, and i'm bored to decide to do some silly stuff to have a bit of a laugh. So:

Dealer has a 6

I have TT and decide to split. I draw an A one one of them. Now, this is not counted as blackjack. So does this mean I can now double it, or must I stick at 21?

you should be able to double - however if 1st card was the A (ie you split AA) then it is 1 card only

You won't be able to double it on 21.

If you are playing online the rules of bj are horribly retarded. A lot of sites u can't resplit. I.e 88 vs 6. u pull an 8 ur on 16 and can't split.

On ladbrokes the dealer hits on soft 17.

lol, that sounds horrible

I'm referring to in a uk casino. I only ask because I vaguely remember someone mentioning not being allowed to hit on 21. But not sure if it applies to soft 21 or not.

Reminds me of the Bill Cosby (?) set where some drunk guy has 20 vs the dealers 10.

"Hit me, I aint' taking no pushes."

My favourite blackjack silliness story was told to me by my dricing instructor. Table full of crazy asians betting big bucks and all have 17s, 18s vs dealers 9.
He is betting £2 a hand every time in the anchor seat and happily flirting with the dealer named Alison.

He has a 4 and a 4.

"I'll stick please Alison, you can have the picture."

All hell breaks loose at the tables with the Asians insisting he can't do that. Floor is called and it turns out he can stick on 8 if he wants to.

He does.

Alison deals the aforementioned picture card, the house scoops.

lol @ it being out of order

what if instead of paint it comes 2 cards to bust the dealer? would he then have been out of order?

wherever you play in the world there's always at least one results orientated player at the table moaning about someone not playing basic strategy or close to it and not understanding that it makes no difference to their own results

I had a great comedy 1/2 hour watching a friend do this in a casino last year.

after an all day/all night session we staggered back to our fave breakfast place at about 8. there is a small casino in the same building so obv we thought it was a good idea to go and win some cash, unfortunately my friend could not see the cards at this point so we had 30 minutes of conversations along the lines of

-card
-are you sure sir?
-card
-you have 20 sir
-oh ok, no card

and repeat

I've had so much fun playing blackjack over the years and far too many times where I don't know how we got out of the casino alive. mafia run cardrooms are not for the fainthearted
