How about this for a moral dilemma:

As has been well documented, Ross Fisher's wife is maximally pregnant and Ross has said that if he gets the phone call to say that his wife has gone into labour he will finish the hole that he is playing and leave the course so that he can be with her when their first child is born irrespective of his position in the tournament, and to this end he has a mobile phone with him on the course at all times.

This mobile phone is entrusted to his caddy who, should Fisher win the Open, could expect a payday of £100K+. And remember that he is only one shot off the lead with probably the greatest chance that he or his caddy will ever have to win one of golf's biggest prizes.

Is the phone secretly switched off at some stage or is it kept on ?

My guess is that if there are only a few holes to go, the missus won't call until the tournament is over.

Her husband may never have the chance to win a major again while hopefully there will be another few Fisherlets to come.

His whole life has been devoted to this chance; I don't think she'll deny him this opportunity.

He said in an Interview that a chance of an open victory will still be there in the future where as the birth of his first child will never happen again and is therefore much more important to him.

She is currently 5 days over due and if she does go into labour I expect him to go.  Ill have a lay ready and waiting should anything happen.

Think the 7/1 looks a good price at moment and I wouldnt be laying it back just yet.

He is around 3/4 of way through the round and rest not handling the pressure well.

Hooked his tee-shot (iron for safety!) into the left rough on 5 and several hacks later he made a quadrupe-bogey 8

Iron for safety off the t into thick rough.

Chopped 2nd 2 feet in front of him

Chopped third sidesways into rough on other side of fairway

Needed a drop

Iron onto the green

3 putted
