I went from 18st4lb down to 15st10lb in 10 weeks so if that's the pre-requisite for knowing how to diet then I'm qualified.

And yes, nuts will fill you up much better than a piece of fruit. The downside is the calories. If you want to eat nuts then chestnuts are about the lowest I believe but I don't know whether they fill you up as well.

a) it's not a pre-requisite, nor does it prove any knowledge whatsoever

b) [?] you know what calories are

im not going to try and educate you anymore, you won't even read the points i make and just get offended, mature imo.

Oh man what have I said?!?!?

Where have you tried to educate me? I haven't been offended by anything you've said. I've been amused but certainly not offended.

So what's a calorie?

A calorie is a unit of energy.

So if I consume 200 energys and don't utilise them what happens to them?

Do I just feel really good because of the excess energys?

Erm, but Girgy wants to lose weight - so any excess calories he ingests are going to be stored rather than used, and this will have a negative impact on his weight loss won't it?

You can't answer my question with a question Girgy sorry.

I'm waiting to be educated the same as you and hopefully improve my maturity at the same time.

Quoting gone to pot, but I'll help answer.

There's a lot more to it, but the key to weight loss is calories ingested < calories burnt leads to weight loss.

The body burns (uses) different energy stores differently.  For example, simple sugars are easily used by the body, which is why glucose is used in energy drinks for example.  Complex carbs are used more slowly, and fats even more slowly.  The body is very inefficient at burning fats, which is why marathon runners feel very lethargic and 'empty' if they run 18 miles plus and run out of carbs to burn and instead the body attempts to use fat stores instead for energy.

Pie i mentioned i was feeling a little hungry between 6-7pm whilst im still at work and i just wanted to know if there was anything that i could have until i got home for my tea at 9pm.

Well personally mate I'm a big fan of protein bars. They're basically a meal replacement and contain a bit of everything.

But as already said I would class them as one of my predetermined meals and have a set time for it.

Don't get in to the habit of 'snacking'. A snack is something you have between meals when you fancy something. If you know that you're going to be needing something at 6.30pm then plan to have something and make sure it's logged as part of your daily intake.

Im confused

Pint of Guinness = 210 Calories

So 10 Pints of Guinness = 2100 Calories

As many of you can vouch for, when I consume 10 pints of Guinness im not full of energy, Im pretty fucked.
