Chubby Brown was good last night! Got my photo taken with him again.

Been to Ford this morning to get a diagnosis on my car. Cost me £90 but they have solved a problem that was doing my head in and also told me about some filings in my fuel pump so i hope that holds out for a while yet of its gg another monkey!!

Off to the bingo this aft for a game and working all weekend!

Broke even at the bingo.

Made £16 on the Gee Gee's.

Picked 4 faves in a £1 lucky 15. 3 won and one came 3rd Sad

Also had an £5 EW double on Positivity 2nd and Flynns Boy (Told Cf about this horse as hes only ever backed one horse and it won. Sure hope he backed it) OBV this one comes in at 7/2!

Working in half hour Sad pretty knackered after getting up at 8am to take the car in!

Girgs - got told once that the best types of cars to have as a taxi driver tend to be Volvo's, Volkswagen's et al. Stay away from Ford's/Vauxhall's etc.

Yea most of guys in our company have mondeos and the guy who owns company fixes cars for us so that's reason I got a ford tbh! Few guys have got skodas and one got a Volvo so will chose wisely when I get my next car!

Things have changed.

Fords have been pretty reliable for the last few years and the likes of VW and Mercedes have slipped.  I don't think VWs are better than Fords these days.  Volvos aren't going to be any more reliable than Fords, as Volvo was owned by Ford up until very recently and they must have a lot of shared parts etc.

I think Vauxhall have been getting better recently too,

You'd probably get something more reliable than a Ford if you bought Asian, but I don't know about the overall cost.

Maybe Skoda's may work out better as someone said, but there can't be a lot in it especially if you get a ford that has taken the depretiation from the first year or two.

Much more expensive to run an auto, more likely to be nearer 20 than 1 mpg difference. Factor in higher road tax + 3x as many sets of brakes its a non starter.

I've been toying with the idea of an auto next! I broke my left leg playing football about 7 years ago and it swells up and aches after some shifts in the manual. Pros and cons of costs of repAirs to a auto?
