Low buy in, live tournament, blinds are 300/600 for next 3 mins then 400/800. Just been moved tables so have no reads. We have exactly 6000 chips and wake up with A7o in middle position. Speed of table indicates that the blinds will go up before they reach us. Standard shove or wait?

How many players are at your table?  How many players are left and how many are paid?

Sorry.

9 players at the table. 80 left. 10 get paid.

I prefer shoving with connectors rather than A7 although in this spot I get pretty trigger happy so just shove

If it's folded to you I probably push as we need to pick up chips but if called I think we're behind our opponent's range.

Fold with no antes

This tournament had no antes at all as it was self deal.

Does this affect your decision at all?

Yeah that's what he just said isnt it!

You don't have to play as fast when there's no ante in play. Fold the A7 and wait for a better spot

I was wondering if it would affect a decision knowing that antes were coming into play in a couple of levels - rather than none at all.

Cheers guys - think I'll pass it next time.

Both a shove and a fold are fine here imo, it's pretty borderline

It's close but comes down to how tight the players are behind you

Fold, u still got 10 bigs in a live tournament, wait for a better spot imo, you get called your fked (technical term i believe), might as well jam blind from MP than with A7 in lots of ways, and its live poker lol, rembering your gambling your full stack with 5ppl ish behind you to act with an ace and a seven, winning only 900 points if it gets through, with no antes either (i.e. heaven number of small denomination chips)

Sure will fold sir.......
