The humanitarian argument is interesting, but highly flawed imo.

Revisionist history is often used in attempt to justify atrocities carried out during wars.

you're missing the big picture.

200 million more mighve died if it hadnt of happend, i'm not justifying it but based on the numbers it seems more reasonable.

of course i'd prefer no deaths but it's a world war so there might be a bit of violence and stuff.

If it hadnt of happend hitler mightve come back to life re-enthused for one last effort and we'd all be speaking german(well not you guys, hitler was a lot of things but i cant imagine him rubbing his one remaining bollock in anticipation of taking over scotland)

I understand your arguement, i just couldn't see 200,000 die to save 200Million as a 'Pro' point

No-one knows what would have happened otherwise

Apologies to all the Scottish blondes ...

But that line actually made me laugh out loud and carry on for a good couple of minutes.

I might print that quote on a T-Shirt and present it to you at a blonde bash bolty !!

I'm not going to pretend to know what wouldve happend, i'm not that informed on the subject.

just trying to look at a potential positive insight into what happend based on arguments ive heard made by historians and war scholars.

It was a terrible thing but they didnt just say: "fck it lets nuke someone today"

One of the very few TV progs I watch ... was a good episode that one...  She cried a bit too much imo ... and I am not having the fact that she new fk all about both grandfathers.  impossible for those stories not to be well documented in the family, as its only 1 generation away.
