I think the chances of him playing 28 Premiership games are very close to 0%.

Woh woh woh! Was that percentage legit?

He's played 28 on average in the last two seasons and Man U are short of a goalscorer up front? If he stays fit it's a no brainer to me.

Rooney left, where he excelled last season, right, now that Ronaldo has gone, or in the hole where he is best now that Scholes is clearly done. If anyone starts hardly any up top it's Rooney. Berba and Owen to start quite a few together up front imo.

Rooney only scored 12 last year and Berba was woeful. Owen will play if he's fit, of this I have no doubt.

The starting fromt 6 in big games will be:

Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, Berbatov.

imo.

Is that the millons he'll earn from his horses or the number of new properties he'll aquire?

[  ] owen gives a shit about football anymore.

I think the camels got a great shout.

look at the stats kinboshi posted about owen, the last two seasons stats tell you everything you need to know.

Fair one, I just dont think the stats reflect Fergie being that static with his team selection in the last 3 campaigns.

I would be amazed if Owen starts more games than he's on the bench.

Shearer was interviewed on football focus this lunchtime. Expects Owen to get 20-25 goals this season as he will tuck away one of the "two or three great chances" Man U will create for him every time he plays

Not sure I agree with Shearer but it made me sit up and take notice

There really aren't many people that own horses that get rich off them. Michael had 5 winners in 2009. Less than a 5% strike rate and only 30k in prize money. His stables are a state of the art facility but grossly mismanaged. He only had 33 individual runners in 2009, so he doesn't have that many horses in his stable.

I heard someone compare Owen's stable to the Coolmore operation a while ago...Coolmore he ain't. He doesn't buy the right horses, didn't employ the right trainer (though Nicky Vaughan is very good as a second man he just didn't cut the mustard) and mainly flogged his woe-ful horses to footballers.

I am sure Michael Owen is a nice guy, and very interested in horses..but to his stable he is what Mike Ashley was to Newcastle.

I took up this bet with Laddies a month ago at 2.25 (1.25 to 1 old school)

Michael Owen to score 11 or more Premier League goals next season 09/10
