buy her the hat , but tell her she has to pay her way now as 16, then say she can start earning her keep by making you a bacon sarnie.

failing that buy her a hat then buy yourself the exact same one and wear it all the time she wont ever wear it and you can get it refunded

Which massively backfired!

"I'll do you a deal, you can get one on sale in the net for £15, or get a £30 one with me keeping the old one, which I will wear - at a daft angle, every time we are out"

Jen's answer "I'll have the £30 one, I don't care if you look an idiot!"

Teach child the value of money. £30 on a cap originally is the mistake.

Obviously just replace and say sigh and FML when she no longer wants it a few months down the line

I agree it's a daft amount of money on a cap, but she paid for it herself out of her birthday money - not a chance in hell would I pay for one of them.

Was the sarnie worth £30?

no Sad

See .. the thing is this, If you dont want accidents in the kitchen, then dont let blokes in !!

Very good point.

Jane should have cooked it therefore Jane should pay for it.

+1

Yeah.  Good luck getting that one through.  Let me know how you get on.

My answer was along the lines of " yeah right, nice try, never gonna happen..."

In fairness it was an accident, but that doesn't mean that Jen should lose something because Kev was stupid not to move the items off the cooker. Perhaps if he helped out more in the kitchen he would know the back of most cooker tops burn things, and therefore not have to stump up the £30 for a new cap. Self inflicted IMO.

I think we clarified the kitchen is for women in a previous post.

Fancy 'spite' burning her cap because she dare go near your bacon.  Pay up imo.

Is that what Dingdell said?

I think the man of the house should be the only one making the decision of what happens.

Yes, they are still looking for him.

Kev's going to look mighty fine at the Blonde bash - wearing a Celtic shirt and a singed baseball cap.
