Lisa Dobriskey has a great chance today.

Sandy

Doubt she will win but could sneak into a medal I reckon.

Masterclass in baton exchanging from the British 4x100 team. Well deserved medal.

Except that it was us that got the yanks thrown out of the comp.

Cheap IMO.

How did we make the yanks run in the wrong lane?

It's all practise isn't it. They didn't get the job done end of

No? Pardon the ignorance then, but why did they get the big D and the big Q?

Just checked and they were out of the exchange zone on the last baton change.

Cheers

So America fked up an exchange. They've only themselves to blame for getting booted out if they didn't complete the race within the parameters of the rules.

The amount of work the British lads put into their baton exchanging (which is a pretty integral part of the relay race is it not?) was obvious and the Americans were found wanting in that department.

The medal sure ain't cheap, it was won via hard graft.

We didn't but no one noticed the infraction until we grassed and why did we grass? Coz we had no chance of a medal if we didn't.

Cheap.

lol @ the word grassing being used in this context. It's sport. Is it grassing in tennis if someone says that their opponents serve was out when the officals rule it in.

If not, how is this different?

There's every chance the US would have fucked up the baton changing in the final too. I don't think our bronze here is a cheap medal.

The question for me is WHY you stitch up the yanks.

It's all well and good acting noble now that we've won but I dont for one second believe this was done to "play by the rules". It was done to win a medal end of story. I'd rather win my medals by competing vs the very best teams. Not having the opposition removed for something a judge didn't spot.

We've not accepted a referee's judgement, gone back and studied the tape to get the yanks kicked out.

How cheap can you get?

utter nonsense. so if the judges had spotted it you would presumably be happy with the way we earned the medal?

so to you the validity of the medal depends on whether or not the judge spots an infringement

Why is competing against another team a bad thing all of a sudden? It's a race and not a coalition of the willing.

I really don't understand where you're coming from. The yank ran over the line and you're not allowed to do that.
