RULES

There are 10 questions, PM your answers to me as soon as possible, each answer on a separate line please, in order of questions. Answers to be submitted by Wednesday 19:53 precisely.

Your score for each question is number of people who give the same correct answer. So you want to go for answers that you think will be less commonly given. Levelling commonly happens. The answer most commonly given is called the sheep, with the corresponding sheep score.

If you give an incorrect answer, this will be marked as a FAIL and you will receive 10 points, or the sheep score plus 1 (whichever is greater).

You MUST pass on one, and only one question, you will receive a score of 0 for that question.

You are not allowed to do ANY research by googling or asking friends or relatives. All answers must come from knowledge you have stored away in your brain!  If I think someone has Googled, a penalty will be applied. A kangaroo court may be used to determine guilt, but I might just bypass any trial and find the accused guilty immediately.  QM's decision is final and correct at all times.

Any questions to be posted in this thread,

The reveal will be on Thursday 20 August 2009 @ 19:53.

During the reveal, if you wish to object to an answer, post your objection on the thread with evidence. The objection will be considered fairly, but the QM’s decision will be final.

Should a previous QM be victorious, he/she has the choice to either nominate a new QM or do it themselves.  In the event of a tie at the end of the questions, the winner will be decided on the contestant who has the most Aces.  If it's still a tie, a fight to the death will be arranged. Proberly.

Questions are as follows:

1.  Name someone who was a band member of the Rolling Stones or The Who during the 1970s.

2.  Name a current world record holder of an athletics event that is still a current Olympic event.

3.  Name a town/city in the UK that has an Ikea store.

4.  Name a city in Japan with a population of over 1,000,000, or a city in China with a population of over 5 million (metropolitan area).

5.  Name a film in which you can see Ewan McGregor star.

6.  Name someone who was a guest in series one and/or two of QI.

7.  Name one of the Top 8 cheese eating countries in the world (in Kg per person, per year - 2003 figures).  Hint - they are all European countries.

8.  Name a Rugby League team that is currently in the European Superleague.

9.  In the English-language version of Scrabble (which contains 100 tiles), give a letter that is worth 1 point.

10. Give one of the ten highest 3-dart finishes, giving both the amount left and the darts thrown that are needed to score it - e.g. 170 = T20, T20, Bull.

If you give an incorrect answer, this will be marked as a FAIL and you will receive the sheep score +10 (up to a maximum of 15).

this was one of the shittest rules ever when used before. 1 fail and you've got no chance of winning, stops people taking punts on borderline answers

Yeah. Just use the standard sheep score + half correct.

An incorrect answer gets 10 points.  Shouldn't be sheep plus 10.

That's the rule.

Anyway, no complaining or whining if you aren't going to bother playing.

Enter and then I might listen to you.

Got a handful of entrants so far, and their opinion is valid.

Half a dozen entries so far and others who've told me they plan to send their entries in soon.

Hurry up folks.  If it doesn't reach 10 entries, I think I'll call it off and it'll proberly indicate that the RSQ has run its course.

Will be because it's another hard quiz!

1/2/6/7/8 all strike me as being somewhat specialised. 10 my first reaction was "wtf" until i actually thought about it and tried to puzzle it out.

Eh?

1.  Surely EVERYONE knows at least one member of the Stones or the Who?

2.  EVERYONE knows at least one world record holder of an athletics event.  If they don't, then they must walk around with their eyes and ears shut all the time.

6.  If you haven't watched QI, then you're missing out and your life will be enhanced if you start watching it from now on.  Therefore this question is a public service.

7.  You just have to make an educated guess on this one.  Not really that hard.

8.  Again, surely everyone in the UK knows at least one Rugby League team?

10.  That's an easy one.  There's even an answer in the bloody question!!

Oh, and you have a pass as well.
