what a sick spot to value shove 77 or something though.....
Hell yeah. Genius move. I think it's a prettty easy call with the A so this would be beautiful. But could you figure that out in the time allowed? I think if there's a man that could it's Alex Martin. He's quite good. FYP

not in doubt value bettin is corect when u have the best hand. but having 77 here on this river in this hand and value betting is the worse value bet in the history of poker as he would be bluffing the river with 77 and that cant be a value bet . either betting for value or betting to bluff he cant be doin both ever and if he is unsure then that is just bad poker.

if he knows you likely have A high and are capable of calling with it he can value bet.

The limp the sb, bet the flop, is extremely common now.

What i was trying to allude to was that a value bet is by its very nature dependant on villains calling range. That established, dependant on villains level of thought and your hand-reading skills you can make an argument for a thin value shove here if you had 77.

yes but the suggestion of value bettin here on the specific hand was the subject not value betting pairs against ace hi calls. but yes i understand what u mean but its gettin more complicated then it need be and maybe the subject of value betting pairs against ace hi calls is better written about on another thred so not get away from the educational points we can learn from somebody bluffing there stack of with 9 5 needlessly . i think the subject of thin value bets is important but this is more a bluff catcher type hand and not a thin value betting type spot. peace out

The problem with this 77 discussion is I would raise it preflop....
