Whilst we're on tenuous Su Pollard links, our family holiday one year was spent at the camp where hi-di-hi was filmed. No one's gonna top that, mum or not.

I wouldn't lie about something so important. it was called Dovercourt Bay, in Essex I think  I was 9, but pretended to be 10 so I could join the dodgers club with the cool older kids instead of the wagtails with the babies.

"Mum. Can you ring Su and ask if she's got a kid called Bolt?"

"Gtfo son. Ring her your fookin self!"

I was Scottish Champion at fencing. Winning it was one of the most disappointing days of my life.

because you cheated?

Nah, because I didn't have to. I spent 11 years training for this result but it clashed with a big international so most of the top Scots weren't there. Achieved my ambition but it felt like a really hollow victory. Weird feeling. Also marked the end of a journey I was enjoying.

Still, it's an official result and I'm chuffed in hindsight. Doesn't  do the cv any harm either.

you would have 100% not won if they'd been there or it wouldve been close?

That's the problem. I don't know. I have beaten almost all them them at some time or other so it was absolutely possible. I just didn't feel I'd proved it. Not like poker where you can console yourself with the cash Cheesy

I was babysat by Phil Oakey from the Human League

Ah, thats just reminded me ... I was in the promotional video for Electric Dreams (Phil Oakey sang the Title track for it).  The prom video though wasn't with Phil Oakey but Boy George (Love is Love).    It's on You Tube and I'm in the yellow Banana outfit running after a hoover to get it's autograph.

Donttakedrugsorthinkaboutitbeforedrugs

see your point, crazy day, it was just another manic monday

the trailier for the film? I've just sat through the music video and didn't see a prom scene, but did have a good singalong! Off to look again!

Boy George, Love is Love track.  It was a trailer video used for Electric Dreams.  Shown in cinemas mainly (those upcoming films bit) although it was shown once to my knowledge on TOTPs.         And for my blatant, I'm over 40 brag post, i was also in Murphys Mob as a kid extra (the young wippet snappers won't have heard of that though)

Cant find it Mich - linky please! Just remembered I was in the TOTP audience too in 1991 and got about 3 seconds of camera time swaying along to Omar's 'There's nothing like this'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhT-2rPFUok    around 3.24 into it ... yellow jumpsuit (and high heels at that age, disgraceful hahahahaha)     PS   points for who spots the page 3 girl :-)
