PokerStars, $3500/7000 Omaha Hi/Lo Tournament, 8 Players

CO: $75,382
Button: $111,340
SB: $166,564
BB: $96,349
UTG: $230,037
UTG+1: $525,132
MP1: $35,374
Hero: $58,348

Dealt to Hero A 5 8 8

It has been folded to me.

The big blind is sitting out and has been for 20mins

It has been the norm for one raise to take the pot preflop for the last few orbits.

My image is TAG

I can get 24.5k of my stack in by potting this and the blinds are coming round soon.

Is this a standard pot bet or am I better waiting for something else?

I did pot it, and the cut off woke up with AAKQ and I got put out. I think the way the table was playing and because the big blind was sitting out it was the right choice.

If big blind wasnt sitting out I would ave folded

thats why i prefer it without the middle pair
cause now your hoping for a set or low

but with a hand like a5j9 you can fluke a 2 pair easier than the set

but as flushy said nothing wrong with potting

not sue about flushy but i am raising to steal here i really dont want to get all in

but once potted i aint folding

I was looking for a hand to get all in with and when my cards were being dealt I was aware the big blind was sitting out, the first 2 cards I got was the so I was thinking this could be good for a steel. I wasnt too happy about the 88 and really just wanted to take the blinds.
