mond, I think it was you that asked on one of the locked threads something like
'is it right that players who are done by uefa for deceiving the ref get a 2 match ban while those that fail to deceive him get pulled up for diving and just get a yellow?'
I'll have to answer on here obv
it's been bugging me tbh, it somehow doesn't seem right at first but it parallels how most countries' justice systems work I guess
you get more for murder than for attempted murder, more for burglary than attempted burglary. the intent is the same but you're penalised based on the result, is that right or wrong?
I still don't know if I think it's right though but thinking about it like that makes more sense of it to me (at least it did until I reread this post and realised it's a bit of a mish mash of jumbled thoughts)
Lol,yeah kinda does make sense what your but not so in away, complicated lol.

I hate all forms of cheating, but must laugh at the Dean Richard's fake blood thing in Rugby.
For year Rugby fans have been claiming that their game was much cleaner, and now it appears its a lot worse.

Was McGreadys a pen? I havn`t seen it but found it quite funny he gets sent off for diving after the Eduardo row.
It wasnt in the box it was out on the touchline. At 1st glance it looked like contact and a foul, ref flashed the card and the defender started walking without much protest but then he was called back and it was McGeady was off. Replays confirmed there was no contact and McGeady took a dive.
Great job by the ref imo, from the original camera angle I thought it was a foul so well done to the ref for spotting the dive and well done for having the courage to send him off and risk the standard bricks through the windows, hate mail and publication of his address and closest family member with an Ibrox season ticket on the internet.
Aiden McGeady cheat cheat cheat!
You have some serious issues
You think? Seems like this is one of the big issues when refereeing Rangers or Celtic, the fear of having your property vandalised (or worse) by aggrieved fans of whichever side has been
harshly
fairly treated that week.

Why not fine the club and player for every dive? Make it..say £50k or so a pop.
that'd work, no?

50k being half the player's salary (or more in most leagues)..surely that should be enough? I don't know what each point in the EPL is worth but I thought that Arsenal would be bankrupt by now if they brought this in.

Now stop trolling boldielocks, I suppose if you had your way we'd bring back the death penalty too.

No, very much against the death penalty.
I would be interested though in seeing Managers, clubs and players fined when players dive...I would be surprised if that didn't sort it out (in most cases).

At the end of the day you can debate this till the cows come home but it won't change anything. Diving will continue as will shirt pulling etc.
I love football,its a great game.
But blimey half of today's players couldn't stand up in a 15mph wind.

What next Boldie? A series of fines for foul play? £50k for a dive, £20k for shirt pulling, £15k for time wasting. £2k for falsely trying to claim a corner/throw in/goal kick?

TBH, I think diving is much more of a problem than shirtpulling or time wasting.

I don't think there is enough shirt pulling in womens football.
