VWP Vettori

No way we deserved that after what we did to New Zealand when they toured England.

If over was called , how could he be still out?

But still fair do's to Vettori. Seems a nice guy!

It looks from the replay that the throw was made before over was called then Colly steps out and ball hits wicket. I'm guessing Vettori was told this and then has to make the decision as it was technically out but Umpire feels he may have influenced it. If over had been called before the the throw the 3rd umpire just says not out doesn't he?

Was refusing to allow an obviouly injured batsman (Smith) a runner acceptable or ungentlemanly?
Probably both. It was cramp. Got cramp from batting for too long, avoid cramp by getting yourself out. Strauss called back that Sri Lankan fella last game when he probably would have been run out even if he hadn't run into Onions. I think we've played our fair play card for the tournament.

Cheers Jose & Gatso - I was reading a book but my Dad was going on about this as he watched the game. I was surprised that the opposing captain was even asked.
