does anybody have any advice on playing a six max TV tourney 100k to start blinds 1k-2k, 2k-4k, 3k-6k 5k-10k, 7k-15 10k-20k
each level is 18 hands winner qualifies for final losers get nothing. 2 pro's 2 celebs/sportspeople + 2 qualifiers
obv brag i qualified for late night stars of poker (on Irish TV) through poker stars filming is next Friday i am soo excited
never been on TV before or played much live before truth be told. any advice appreciated i wanna try and win this!

The standard will be appalling - NAP.
When it becomes a dog shoot, shove with a wider range than normal and call shoves with a tighter range than normal.
Other than that enjoy the free food and wait for the inevitable donkey to cooler/suck out on you.

be a nit in the first few levels, occasionally mention that you folded AQss to a single open and keep straight faced and then exploit your tight image later on. |

be a nit in the first few levels, occasionally mention that you folded AQss to a single open and keep straight faced and then exploit your tight image later on. yeh stacks are so shallow you cant make a mistake. so just fold stuff and try not to feel too dirty about it early and jam tons later. |

Super nit early, super lag late. If unsure pass, dont start calling big %s of ur stack. If there is any kind of serious money involved, join poker x factor and watch everything by sheets and innisint. Learn shove ranges and callings ranges against the number of bb's you have. If your not that bothered, play super tight and dont be too concerned about being on tv. If at any point you have 5bbs its probably right to open shove. Good luck, and enjoy. :-)
Oh yes one more thing. Old school pros dont understand the above. Sports stars are usually bad. Celebs even worse.

depends on the celeb norman pace aint that bad a players roger de coursey can hold his own vicky coren has an ept title yet some of them have never played before |

Don't be afraid to make some loose calls when the structure demands it at the 5k-10k level
eg KJs is good in the BTN vs CO shove

Everyone saying play tight early is just wrong, smash out the gates, i won a heat with this exact structure just get yourself to 130-150 ASAP so you can afford to lose a showdown at 2-4/3-6
