Being luckier than I deserve I've been offered the chance to go to the Bahamas next Easter, flights paid & staying with familly friends....

But flights are expensive to fly direct, but cheap to go via Miami, the question is, if I have a night in Miami is it easy to get from the Airport to somewhere decent where I can get a meal &  a sleep before I fly out the next day?

Any advice appreciated.

When i went over to the Bahamas for the WPT Pokerstars event last January we spent one night in Miami before flying over the following day. We stayed at the Hilton Miami, reasonably priced with complimentary bus shuttle service running to and from the airport every 15 mins. I'll PM you the site for you to check out.

Have fun Wink

you need to stay on South Beach, hotel called the Clevelander, a little expensive but a great time on a very popular beach

Ahh Bri, you and me are gonna have to have a little chat about Miami - my second fave place in the US. Home to my fave diner .. Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House.

Thanks all, I'm now spending 2 nights in Miami (1st one will be a wreck - due to jet lag - but will have a full day to do a wee bit of the tourist bit  Cool )

I'll have a look for the Clevelander Bri, and I'll check Matt's link. One day in Maimi - what should I go see?

You should go see the Holocaust Museum, the Bayside Shopping Mall, South Beach Art Deco District, and of course the beach!

i think it is for shit, if you want to play poker stay at the Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida, that may be your best bet, expensive but really nice. They have SNG's from $50 - $1,000, great pool area

Always wanted to see the Everglades as well though & they do trips to a native american village....

I was looking at the Hard Rock in Hollywood - I like that area, and around Hallandale as well.

The Micosukee is a bit of a way out. The HR is probs about 45 mins from the airport in Miami, and a bit closer to the Port of Miami. if the Cruise is goign from Fort Lauderdale then you go to the HR.

If i had the choice 2 nights on the south east coast, i would go for west palm beach, just beautiful, all the good stuff from Miami without all the tension and violence.
