We are looking to go on holiday to Cyrpus next year in June or July. Can anyone recomend the best parts to stay in? We are looking for a 4 bed villa (sleeps  , not to balla! A friend has recommended an area called Coral Bay (i think). Any advice much appreciated. Cheers |

Coral Bay is excellent and there are plenty of big villas there. It's relatively quiet compared to the party resorts. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and a really good beach (which is very busy!). Visit the 'Payia Tavern' for excellent traditional Cypriot food and 'The Last Castle' for a great BBQ in a stunning setting.

But why do English people go on sumer holidays?
June/July/August are usually the only tolerable months weather wise in our country and yet everyone seems to want to scuttle off to somewhere even hotter to get suburned and stung by loads of insects.
December/January/Feb holidays ftw

My daughter is on final year at school and exams finish in June, last year we went to feurteventura in February and it was a greta time to get away. |

Err school holidays! Ok point taken. But why traditionally are the long school holidays in summer? It would save money for schools and be alot safer for kids to be off for 6 weeks in the winter and maybe have a 2 week break in July or August. |

This. Always do this unless there is a specifc reason why I can't, usually alot cheaper as well. |

Err school holidays! Ok point taken. But why traditionally are the long school holidays in summer? It would save money for schools and be alot safer for kids to be off for 6 weeks in the winter and maybe have a 2 week break in July or August. When school holidays were first introduced, nobody went abroad pretty much. So everyone holidayed in this country when the weather was good. |

Wouldn't save money to have school hols in the winter, if that happened, the holiday companies would have expensive hols then!
I was thinking about going away during this half term, nothing flash, week in Spain or something, but at around £400 each, I can't afford it. 2 weeks either side of the hols, I'm only looking at £100ish for the same holiday.
