I am playing this.

I think it will definitely struggle a bit.  The WSOPE and EPT events must have made a serious dent in some people's bankrolls.  There seems to have been a serious glut of £1K+ events in London.  At the EPT alone I could have happily played a £1K full ring, 6 max and omaha one, but decided to stick to just the one.

But this is near London and still cheaper than the grand final, so I will be there.

Thanet and Blackpool, coastal resorts, in late autumn? Inland Luton in the summer. Does this make sense?

I think from memory that Brighton has been in January too.  Though they did run it a warmer time of the year in the first season and it was very difficult to get a hotel room anywhere.  I know I paid an extortionate price for a terrible room at the time.

Though hard to imagine Ramsgate ever gets busy anymore.

I'm going, but it's a 4 hour trip even from Birmingham.

There was a decent enough field last year, but I think it could really struggle this year?

The reason for going to coastal towns out of season is indeed about the price and availability of accomodation.

Blackpool is my favourite UKPT event, but I see it is back to being the same week as Amsterdam Sad

Bad news.

I'm sure you can get a bag of skunk and a transsexual hooker in blackpool if you ask around.

is it true that PokerStars "were deep in negotiations to takeover the GUKPT but this one apparently fell through for now"?

pretty sure ppl stumping up £1k for an event will be more than happy to pay more for accomodation in return for more femflesh on display and that rare joy of seeing sunshine.
