By the way the airfield is called "Bentwaters" and is not really near Ipswich, (20miles north so close) some of you may of heard about a certain UFO being seen there many years back, quite ironic really!
Anyway they must be the most stupid people around as not only would it be freezing cold in Russia but all the cars are in righthand drive!!
But the most blatent fact is that going into space costs MULTI-MILLIONS of dollars, some how i doubt the channel four company can afford it, no matter how many phone-ins they can milk from it.

You should have watched the show weirwizard. When they landed it was in the night and sub-zero, but importantly they are supposed to be based near Volgograd which is south west Russia and as close to Iran as it is to Moscow. The temperature there today is a believable 7 degrees C, in Ipswich it is 6 degrees C.
As for the right hand drive cars, they arrived in the middle of the night by a Russian helicopter and were transported in a Russian bus, escorted by a Russian car, passing a working Russian Tank and a scud missile on the way.
The budget for this show is apparently £4 million. The estimated price of future space tourist flights? $200,000 each according to Richard Branson. Set to take off from 2008...

So it now costs more to fake a space flight than it does to actually do it for real?
How things have changed since 1969.

If he carries this off without giving a single thing away via a look or slipped comment, someone should teach him to play poker.
There are 2 actors, and 1 of them, Charlie is a firend of Vicky Coren's so maybe he is a poker player!

Didnt know there were 3.
Vicky Coren posted on hendon that the rest were genuine, not saying her friend may have been told to lie to everyone, but i believe they are.
Its not hard to find a handfull of fame hungry muppets in todays Britain. Well done British education

my daughter noticed today that the Scottish guy (ryan?) who is supposed to be a genuine contestant actually appears on the advert on stv for the blood transfusion service.. the one with Martin Kemp and Gordon Ramsey.. in the ad he appears in front of Gordon Ramsey who pats him on the head... they must ALL be actors..

Man appears as extra in advert? Must be an actor then...
I've revised my opinion after witnessing this collection of fools blithely accept that the fair city of Minsk was named after 'Minsky' - the first Russian monkey to return from space. They definitely are subnormal.

I've only caught some of it but I howled with laughter - they did this communication thing where they had to pretend to talk to mission control and they had to report seeing things like the Fonz. The fully bit was the comment afterwards by one of the 'cadets' who said that it was the first bit of serious training they had had and it had demonstrated how serious the whole thing was getting........deerie deerie me!
I think some of the blondites might be right - they might all be actors - and we are the ones being wound up...?

What a pointless program this is. If someone sent me on an outwood bound course, put a jumbo jet in front the building I was in and told me I was off to Russia to train as an astronaught, I'd believe them (possibly) For one thing they had Johnny Vaughn there so its obviously not a dodgy outfit. Then to be flown around for hours and landing in place where everything is Russian looking, why not believe it.
I cant see the appeal of this. Its watching people having a joke played on them. The only people that it effects is the guys in there and why we would care I dont know.
If Johny Vaughn could refain from saying "We are (pause) actually (pause again) just outside Ipswich (wait for dramatic effect)" the program would be a managable 20 mins long.
Toilet.....IMHO of course

entertainment.
Seeing how they react, seeing if they catch on, seeing the reaction of the guys who didn't get in, etc, etc, etc.
Poke the grumpy bear.
