It should, IMO. Gives a wider range of players the chance to hit 25 comps eg Silo, HoldorFold

Have been mulling the league thing over and am starting to think Tuesdays and Saturdays should be included. Consider, more people from blonde get to participate, the field size is quite big, Tom, Dick and .............. Edna all played this Tuesdays tourney, it takes a great deal of skill to dodge so many bullets from so many. Anyway, think about  it Dewi/Celtic - can't remember who started this.


Totally unrelated to the fact that I chopped this week's heads up - pip pip !

I'm disagreeing.  don't those nights get a lot of runners, so making final more difficult.  I suspect Chompy doesn't often final in these so doesn't want them included as they will bring his average down when the sums are done

Not that any Blondies ever would cheat but both tournaments are open to abuse imo, only ever likely to be one or two league players turn up and they could disappear without trace if not final tabling, if you know what I mean. This league is high stakes, dog eat dog.
Also those tourneys are so different in quality and with such different fields that they are separate entities imo. I played the Tuesday comp five times this year and finalled three times, that's how soft it is.
If, say, one player plays the Tuesday comp 25 times a year and win it four or five times, that will probably be good enough to win the league. Meanwhile, the other 20 will be taking each other on three times a week. Those are my views.
If enough others want to add in Tue/Sat, I'll go with the flow though.

I have to say I agree.  Without the use of my crystal ball at the moment I've no idea how cash flow might go over the course of the year.  If the £30 games are the only ones I can afford to play for a bit I'd like the opportunity to stay in the running for the league.

I hadn't thought of people being that desperate to win that they would play tactically but I guess it's possible. I dislike the smaller buy ins because of the variance in play, how about putting a limit on the number that can be included?

Personally, I'd like to see everyone given a chance, so that those who cannot afford, or commit, the the bigger buy-ins, can get involved.

If the worst comes to the worst, & they look like winning the League, you could always fiddle the scoring. I'll do that for you if you want. Everybody always believes me.

OK, halfway house it is then. All players must play at least half their qualifying tournaments in Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun tournaments. It's been amended in the original rules...
