the Wed comp. 98 runners! uh what. how and why? lol

Its lowest common denominator poker, a far cry from the previous Wednesdays

I suppose it ticks all the boxes to get numbers up

Affordable to the occasional player

lots of chips for early fun and games

stuff the structure, who cares? The extra runners certainly don't

Cant argue with the numbers... well done luton G i say... comp is weird ...the first 2 30 min levels feels like a long clock deepstack and then it goes into overdrive lol.. i wouldnt play it but Wednesday is officially the poker night for me so i'm in there..

Standard is utterly woeful..... Last night it was the turn of K J to be king as all the donks played it from everwhere imaginable and for any money.... any concept of Poker is totally lost on these people as i saw them call limp OP with marginals and call 3 streets with top pair only to see there money pushed the other way when the raiser showed em a genuine... i still cant believe there are so many bad players out there with so much information available to them..most havent even got the basics installed... but hey ho makes for interesting viewing much akin to standing on the side of a foggy M1 during the blind mans London to Manchester speed run..

was experimenting last night with pure small ball and it was working well even against the donkey derby jockeys(especially as never had a decent starting hand all night until exit hand ) and i had increased my stack by 50% without playing a large pot..keeping out of trouble and keeping the pots small.. but deviated from the plan once and got Rupin-ated for half my stack after calling the 4 flushing turn and repping the flush on the river only to be reraised by a straight..mr rupin doesnt read boards LOL...

then shoved a button limper with Q Q .. to be fair the donk did dwell before making the K J call....flop K turn K no Queen for justice...

It wasnt the comp for this style after the first few levels but as I say it was more the concept I was trying rather than actually looking to get a result ( which was just as well )

LOL moment of the night was Dennis ( officially WPIL ) 'The Yank Barns ' putting in a 4th re-raise on the river of a Q Q 10 10 x board and triumphantly flipping his 10 over in victorious standing stance only to be shown a Queen and then shuffling off meekly into the night scratching his head....

2 cash tables going in full flow but couldnt be bothered to wait for a seat... good to see a few faces i havent seen in a while including Damon D'cruz and little muppett...

So almost £1800 for the winner last night... not bad for a fifty quid punt....

And a well done to claire who was short stacked when i left... I didnt realise she had become a CSM (Chompy Shove Monkey ) prodigy..

Winkie wants the lot, the WSOP fantasy comp and a point for not making the final table. By jingo he gets it though, tenth is good for one point.

But last night was all about Ms Claw, who hauled herself away from the bottom-feeders with a fine third. Just think, if only two more runners had got in, you would have picked up 18pts instead of 9pts. UL. LOL.

Sir Donksalot was also present, making the following move for the 87th unsuccessful time this summer:

"...deviated from the plan once and got Ruppinated for half my stack after calling the four-flushing turn and repping the flush on the river, only to be reraised by a straight..mr ruppin doesnt read boards LOL..."

Sigh.

A very odd hand early doors had the table open-mouthed.  It's level 1, we've all got pretty much our 10k starting stack and there are two early position limpers.  I've raised to 250 from the cut off with  , Nirvana calls from the SB, BB calls, then one of the limpers puts in a reraise to 750.  I make the call with position, and the blinds come along for the ride.  Flop      , and Nirvana check raises the pf reraiser (1500-ish, raised to 3500).  After some dwellage, Nirvana's opponent makes it an extra 4k on top leaving himself 1700 behind, Glenn moves all in for his own last 1700 and stands up ready for show-down, but we don't get the expected insta-call, we get a dwell and a fold.  The guy comments that he found out where he was without committing all his chips.

that was what I put him on, especially given the 'nervous' twitching and nail-biting on display. But no.
