you had JJJ in the hand above Glen?

that was what I put him on, especially given the 'nervous' twitching and nail-biting on display. But no.

tells, what tells ?

Second nuts,  777

Couldn't worry about him having JJJ, was worried about FD possibilities but not going anywhere, he must have had complete air cause I think any over pair and you make a crying call and hope to hit

From what the other guy was saying afterwards, I think he had AK.

Nothing doing at Luton last night. About 32 runners. Appu was there and made final table.

Had an awful situation which marred the evening for me.    Basically I'm short stacked 1700, throw them in with KQ os get one caller with 33.    I cannae even remember the board properly ewcept to say there was DEF two 8's on it and all i was thinking at that stage was Q or K river plleaassseeeeeeee - well alas it doesn't come and I say Good Luck fellas and start to push away from the table.

The dealer has not pushed the winning cards up (like most do) and mucks the cards and two players say 'HOLD ON, she won, there was 2 and 2 on the board so her K kicker won.    WTF I'm thinking, shit, how did I miss it. Someone calls Nina over for a ruling, but all cards are mucked at this stage and mixed up. The guy in the hand was very gentlemanly and calm and explained what had happened and he like me said he was not totally sure of the board as he was looking out for the 'scare card' only. Another chap on the table says 'NO, there were THREE 8's giving Trev a full house' the other two swear there were 2 and 2 .

I was mortified, I said 'Look guys I should have paid attention, the hands mucked, my own fault, etc etc but Trev is talking to Nina about giving me my 1700 chips back and declaring the hand dead.   That was mighty generous of him.   I just didn't want to sit there after that, so threw them in again soon after.

Another one of those 'bloody hell, why do i have to be involved in a hand when 'others' make a dispute situation ....... oh well, another situation that'll I learn from.

What makes me laugh is that I had my eyes tested that day and currently wearing a new prescription as well - fat lot of good that did me

Nothing doing last night.*
30-odd runners and no definite sightings of Sir Donksalot yet. Whether he played his eighth tournament of the month or not is, at this early stage, unclear.

* Only league officials are allowed to make this comment.

A very odd hand early doors had the table open-mouthed.  It's level 1, we've all got pretty much our 10k starting stack and there are two early position limpers.  I've raised to 250 from the cut off with  , Nirvana calls from the SB, BB calls, then one of the limpers puts in a reraise to 750.  I make the call with position, and the blinds come along for the ride.  Flop      , and Nirvana check raises the pf reraiser (1500-ish, raised to 3500).  After some dwellage, Nirvana's opponent makes it an extra 4k on top leaving himself 1700 behind, Glenn moves all in for his own last 1700 and stands up ready for show-down, but we don't get the expected insta-call, we get a dwell and a fold.  The guy comments that he found out where he was without committing all his chips.

Well played Sicilian IMO

This the board approves of however. Bonus points for similar in future.

No didn't realise it was you - didn't recognise you in your civvies Cheesy  Yeah I know what you mean about getting caught, I know I've done it in off moments in the past, just don't think I could make the fold there unless I was drawing completely dead, I'd be making a crying call and hoping for a miracle.

ouch. Was it one of the new dealers Mich?  A couple of times on Wednesday dealers tried to push pots over to the wrong person, and at one point tried to ship me the pot after I'd raised pre-flop as he hadn't realised someone had called.  I know it's tough on the new dealers sometimes being thrown in at the deep end, but as you mention, pushing up the cards that make the winning hand, confirming it, and awarding the pot before mucking the cards should be done without exception whilst they're learning.

Yes, it was one of the new dealers and the 'pushing off the pot to the wrong person' thing also happened (to me, I won the pot but it was pushed to Ian) about half an hour before this hand in question.  He also dealt quite quickly and started burning ready for the flop before the BB had a chance to announce his action, whole table said 'wooa, hold up, still someone to act'.

I spoke to Nina afterwards, I didn't want to get the guy into trouble (he's a nice chap) BUT I thought it should be mentioned about the previous 'mishaps' so that someone could just observe the dealing.

It was a situation that could have been a lot worse depending on what players had been involved.

Edna the legend finished second last night, while the vastly under-rated USADennis made yet another final table. No leaguers there with them though.
