Would it be worth having one or two a week for muscle recovery?

Might be a bit overkill unless you are trying to qualify for the Olympics..

I have sports massages, can't rate them highly enough.  I'd cheerfully make cut-backs in other areas of budget to continue to get them too.  Even if you only have one occasionally, and even if the actual massage is quite painful on sore muscles, the improvements afterwards are worth it.

I started off using a company attached to a gym and ended up striking a deal with one of the therapists for a home visit service.

Meanwhile, I have had to eat all my meals out for the last couple of days, so not been a good diet period.  Back on it (a bit) today and then back on it for real tomorrow.

Yeah, will look into getting one..maybe one before going on holiday and then once a month or so after that.

A bit confused about everyone using the eating out as an excuse for not having lost weight. Come on guys, order chicken when in a restaurant...don't eat the potatoes etc. When having pasta have a couple of bites less than you ussually would.

Portion size is at least as important as what you eat IMO.

BTW, obv easy for me to say..I'm 92Kg (bang on) and don't need to loose any weight anymore Smiley

Starting Weight: 154.2kg
Today's Weight: 151.0kg
Difference: 3.2kg

Pleased with what's going on so far. Haven't been drinking as much water as I'd like though, ideally I want to be drinking 2.5L to 3L a day. I'm barely making 1L recently.

Weigh in last night was 98.7kg so another small loss.

To be honest I've not really taken this very seriously at all so it's just standard fluctuations helped slightly by not going out on the piss or for a curry with Stu.

Would be interesting to see how I'd do if I did this properly for a while.

Obviously I wouldn't want to lose weight, just body fat. Might give it a go some time.

As long as you're drinking plenty of fluids it doesn't matter whether it's water or not, really. Do you drink fruit juice, milk etc.? Obv water is "better" as there are no calories in it and therefore help keep the calorie count down but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I drink, or try to, just drink water and diet coke atm. I'll have 1 can of diet coke a day, occasionally 2. So I think I'm still underdrinking by a certain bit, think at least 2L of liquids should be minimum.

yeah, you're quite a bit under then. 3L of fluids a day seems to be recommended for a guy, also helps with eating less. (I drink loads more, approx 5, but I just seem to be addicted to water ATM and take Hydroxycut so have to drink more)

hate this advice for someone trying to lose weight. a pint of semi skimmed is going to add approx 300 calories to your intake, skimmed not much better tbh, orange juice about the same. fine to have in moderation as part of your diet but not as something extra to top up your fluid intake

Yeah, fair point. Water is much preffered. Mrs B drink Sobe stuff (essentially flavoured water) Approx 70 calories per 500ml, I think (not sure and can't be bothered to check, just know it's lower than fruit juice).

Unfortunately I hate that stuff so only drink water (and 1 cup of Rooibos tea per day).
