Evil one!

I am about to embark on my own little weight shedding campaign, which like yourself will be low carb ish.

I too enjoy eggs as part of my low carb regime, (not as many as you i would add), and with a low carb diet in general not being overly high in fibre, and eggs being quite bindy - do you have any top tips to keep everything moving in the right direction?

This is not a piss take by the way - i currently use a laxative once every 3 days but wondered if you had any other marvellously evil tips?

Just for the record, I will not be recording everyting on blonde, i might post once or twice on Toms thread when I hit 15st and 14st respectively! Well tbh if i hit 14st there will be a big piss up as I will have won a cheeky little wager!

I've never had a problem with eggs being bindy. Isn't that just an old wive's tale?

I can't imagine using a laxitive every 3 days is good for you unless of course it's at the instruction of a doctor.

Are you doing any training as part of your regime or is it purely a diet?

For the record, I eat two eggs including yolks (but minus shells) every day.

I would be far too nitty to flush yolks down the sink.

Your diet looks well-balanced and healthy - I was jut wondering about the calories out of curiosity.  You don't mention any fruit or veg (other than the bananas) - do you have a bit of leafy salad with your meals?  You really should, otherwise you'll never have curly hair... Wink

Drinking that much water is key to a lot of healthy eating imo.  If you're constantly hydrated, your body gives out fewer hunger signals (a lot of the time the body is trying to tell you you're dehydrated and instead you feel hungry), and also it's able to operate effectively (you're less tired, you can think more clearly, you digest food more efficiently, you can exercise better, etc.).  I drink water or have a drop of cordial in it (when I'm feeling crazy and feel like pushing the boat out) - and usually drink at least 4 pints a day.  When I run, it's usually a lot more than that to replace what I've lost in sweat, etc.

I don't plan my meals as well as you, so I can only report on what I've had so far today:

07:00: Fruit/oat bar thing and a bottle of isotonic drink - be before my run.

09:00: Carbo/protein shake mix (Rego)

09:30: Omlette butties! (6-slices of bread and 8 egg whites)

I know I should have some green shit but I really don't like it. I've never suffered without it so I'll stay as I am for now.

There's a surprising amount of fruit and veg in the sauces I make my curries/chillies with so that'll do for now.

If I get more serious I'll probably start supplementing with a decent vitamin/mineral (in before you ask for a scientific study that it works).

I agree about the water especially the hunger bit. So many people have a bag of crisps when all they really need is half a pint of water.

If I ever start running 10km a day I'll get the recipe for those 6 slices of bread butties Cheesy. They sound amazing!! Are you fussy about which brand of bread you use? Is it just standard wholemeal bread or full on 100% whole grain stuff?

I have to admit they taste a lot nicer with the yolks.

My favourite is a couple of huge sausage cobs complete with fried eggs. Mmmmmmmmm.......

I also love scrambled eggs on toast but made with whole eggs with a huge blob of butter + loads of butter on the toast.

F**KING DIET!!!!!!

If you want some free egg yolks Tom I can arrange to post 28 to you every week. This number may increase as my training steps up a notch or two.

Im a newb to the thread and havent read anything more than this page so if already mentioned, apologies.

There is a fibre supplement you can get from holland and barrets. a tub of like 300 tablets i think, they advise 5 tablets for every meal, and to take a couple in between to stave off hunger.

I tell you what, it is truly amazing, i have the number 2 like clockwork and never feel clogged up, it also helps you shed pound without much effort, just take around 20 of these tablets a day and thats ure daily intake of fibre sorted.

Its called the fibre diet and its helping me out right now, feel much more energetic as well.

I've found out through experience that it's not so much the fats as the carbs that cause me to put weight on.

I can get away with eating a small amount of fat, especially "Good" fat.

Its a "natrual laxative" so im not overly concerned by its use. I just find that when I low carb i can sometimes get a bit bunged, so now I just prevent it from occuring. The full on low carb is rarely longer than 3 months so im not too concerned - just wondered if you used owt

as for training, just light exercise as energy level tend to be low

Back in January I made the decision to stop posting on blonde during work hours and offered 1k to anyone who caught me.

Although that obviously stopped me from posting it didn't stop me reading so it didn't really alter how much time I could spend on here if I want to.

So I'm now going to retract that offer and start to post during the day again.

This thread has recently gained a bit of momentum with a few people contributing so I'd like to be able to join in at all times when it suits me.

Yes this should be the case for most people. The Atkin's diet (which is shit imo) allows you to eat as much fat as you like as long as you don't have any carbs.

There's no doubt that Atkin's has the effect of losing weight but it's nutritionally absolute gash.

As far as the eggs are concerned I don't mind a couple of yolks a day because it is 'healthy' fat but I think 6 would be pushing it.

12th Apr 2011 40kg x 8, 40kg x 8, 40kg x 7, 40kg x 9

Will be back on this on Monday.

I trained chest the Monday just gone but only went steady to make sure I didn't aggrevate the work the physio had done.

I've been to physio again this week and he's now happy for me to be pressing to full capacity.

Shoulders today was good with some decent weights and no problems so Monday is back on the dumbell press challenge.

I'm going to start back at the 30kg dumbells but use the same method to decide when to step up. If I get 10 reps I move up 2.5kg if I get 5 reps I step down.

Hopefully I'll be back up to the 40s within a couple of weeks then it's onwards and upwards.

I can't believe it's over a month since I last did my dumbell presses.

Can't wait to get back on it.

What do those numbers mean ?

40kg means I'm pressing two dumbells weighing 40kg each. x 8 means I perform the press 8 times.

The 8 reps (repetitions) constitute 1 set. I always do 4 sets.

I'm aiming to press 50kg dumbells some time this year.
