I mean it's horrible and I threw them all in the bin.

Hello again everybody..... Evilpie's back!!!

I just got round to joining the gym...... again....... so I thought for some added motivation I'd fire up the old diary and see where it leads.

I've thought long and hard (about 3 minutes) about whether to resurrect this thread, start a new one or post on the dieting thread. I eventually decided with the resurrection plan because I think it's nice to be able to look back at how my training has progressed (or not) over the years.

The first goal will simply be to get there and stick to it. Once I get in to a routine of early starts then I'll look in to the 50kg dumbell challenge again. That took a year last time so I'm not expecting anything to happen too soon.

Anyway no excuses, I haven't trained because I've been lazy, simple as that!! I hate being lazy and I hate the fact that I'm over 20lbs lighter than I used to be but not in a good way if you know what I mean.

New gym opens at 6am and I intend to be there somewhere around that sort of time. Really not looking forward to getting up at half 5 in any way, shape or form but it simply has to be done.

The place looks absolutely fantastic. This clip shows the place www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwiA14Nw9bg . I have no idea how they can do this for £15/month but that's all it costs! Incredible!

I honestly think that if this place had been open a few years ago I'd still be training now. It's about 5 minutes from home with loads of parking and really good opening hours. There's more free weights than I've ever seen in a gym before and loads of machines. There's even a boxing ring and mma cage!! Amazing!!

Hope to have a few people on board on this thread but thoroughly understand if it's just me. There will be limited poker content somewhere in the region of zero but hopefully a fair bit of training content. With a bit of interaction it could get to be fun again but I know a lot of people who used to post on here are now in the thread in the lounge.

So with a little bit of luck and a large bit of effort I'll be at the gym tomorrow morning for the start of a new training journey.

Who knows, maybe this one will keep going.....??

You can piss right off as far as I am concerned.

I hope I make myself clear.

20lbs, heck of an amount of lean to put on, but I know you know how long it will take to put it on.

What sort of macros and stack are you using? or are you  just getting back to the gym for now

Like yourself, I have been a lazy fecker after a good start to the year

I've also started training again. About 6 months ago I went to the North of Thailand and was walking past a school with my girlfriend and some members of her family when a game of football that was going on stopped so that the people playing it could stare at the white dude. They called me over and I joined in the game, barefoot. Didn't think that was much of an error, the kids were only about 12 years old. 10 minutes later I was running for a ball, slipped backwards and broke my wrist.

Without sport (here in Thailand I was playing at least 1 sport every day) I started grinding more and eating a ton more. I reached the weight I was when I first came to Thailand. 105kgs. Eeek. I always said I would never let myself get above that weight again so I rejoined the gym and started eating better. I've shaved nearly 7 kilos off in about a month and I wanna lose about 4 kilos a month for the next 3/4 months.

Will be continuing with weights also and posting some updates here.

I'm not planning on putting 20lbs back on to be honest. That was a long time ago and I really can't imagine training to that level again especially now that I'm pushing 40!!

I get aches and pains all over and it's all because of the training I did when I was younger. To do it again now would be almost impossible and certainly a little bit silly.

I always aimed for 45/40/15 as my ideal intake. At my peak of training that was made up of about 5500 calories per day with all manner of protein shake, pills and powders to help along the way. Pretty much everything you could take short of steroids. There's no way I'm going to be doing that again, it's ridiculously difficult to eat that much food.

Maybe if things go well I'll set a target and go from there but for now I'll be happy if I can get there 4 times a week.

Tomorrow morning is the biggest challenge that's for sure.

Know exactly what you mean, my back, ankles, knees and wrists all fked from injuries.
Now i'm in my late 30s I find I can put muscle on pretty quick once I get a routine going, but it also comes off much quicker once I stop.
