Nice little comp the Monday one now, plays nice and sedately, good value for money.

My trip back up the motorway was on about two minutes after Mr Myland limped utg with 75hh and I found AcAd and shoved to look weak, called as planned. GG me in 17th.

Gary Banks did a passable impression of Peter Doherty tonight, with a bit of Worzel Gummidge mixed in. Repeatedly ordering Grand Marnier and Drambuie in the same glass, lighting the rim of the glass, and inhaling the vapours. At the table! Coco Pops looked on in bewilderment.

Wednesday's comp is being changed slightly as of this week

30 minute clock all the way through
2 extra levels in incl 150-300

Should make it much more playable, but probably unfinishable at anything over 80 runners, but mustn't grumble

10 handed finals from now on and new payout structures that seem to make numbers paid fewer. Will have to see how that develops. As one wag commented

"Has Carmel had a brain transplant?" with such a fit of reforming zeal sweeping through the card-room....

the answer came

"Head Office decisions"

Wiiiiiiii have our first leaderboard and guess who's top? Yep, me. I don't pick any old duffers isn't it. Three scoring players so far: 15pts for Unimaginative, 13pts for Chuck and 9pts for Xpressman...

‘Most Of The Time They Can’t Call’ (G.Wheldon)      24
‘Jonny’s Plums’ (D.Johnson)                         13
‘Alien Attack’ (D.Allen)                            9
‘Property Express All-Stars’ (I.Needleman)          9
‘Re-Binked’ (A.McBride)                             9
‘Phoenix 5’ (G.Rogers)                              9
‘Ball Till U Fall’ (A.Martin)                       9

buttttttttttt.

Updated up to Mon 4 Jan

Unimaginative, my tip for big things in 2010, extended his early lead (as well as my lead in the fantasy poker) with his third.

Sounds like the new Monday donkament is going to be a success.
Also, re: the changes made to the Wednesday donkoff, haven't these just turned things closer to the way they were in the old Wednesday tournament we all adored so much?

Hopefully the kidz will start getting bored with longer clocks and an extra level, fields sizes will come closer to 50-60 again and the purists will reign supreme once more.

Elsewhere, the weather has put paid to any decent horseracing for the next couple of weeks, so I'm jumping on the Wisbech to Biloxi transatlantic express to go play some sumptuous WPT side events in the deep south of the USA.

One more Luton trip tomorrow night first though, to pick up some dimez and drop off the trophiez. Leaguers Celtic, TFOP and Buff, I'll leave them with Coco Pops or whoever on the poker desk if you're not present.

hmm, tempted to come up for the £30 tonight, but don't fancy getting snowed in. Forecasts seem to suggest it will hit tomorrow - safe do you reckon?

Claire
no snow in london or st.Albans as we speak, and yet they had forecast it by now.
However, it is now snowing in Windsor/Slough area
......life's a gamble

Chomps
as far as updating the league table is concerned, I can confirm that no other leaugers were on the FT last nite, so only unimaginative gets points for 3rd.
When my 'er indoors (who woz clearly outdoors imo) went out 9th there woz only cp left (wiv > a fird of the chippies in play @ 600/1200)
he didn't donk them off

It has just occured to me that my post above could be complete and utter berlox.

[ ] This sure would be a surprise to most readers imo

having looked back at the league table i don't think I know 7 of the new leaguers, so in actual fact they could ALL have been on the final table!

  • Best we wait for AWOP; that Drainy bloke is a muppet.

Done the update, such as it is...
Will check the result if and when it appears on AWOP. Did they pay the top five spots? If so Thomas gets his 4pts. Otherwise, I'll smack him back down to zero faster than D'Artagnan can say 'call'.

[EDIT] Thomas's points have been ERADICATED.
