OK, here's the bet, Preston to win at Peterborough tonight. I'm not gonna bother just backing PNE to win at 7-4, instead I'm going with Preston-Preston half time-full time at 4-1.
There's plenty of 4-1 around and that price should be available somewhere all day.

I backed Posh to get relegated pre-season at 7-1 and that's money in the bank. We were competitive for the first dozen or so matches but aren't any more.

Mark Cooper, who's already on his final legs as manager imo, accused the players of lacking bottle at Sheff Wed over the weekend, saying they only started playing when 2-0 down.
As often as not that's been the way of it all season. We've gone 3-0 down (WBA) and 4-0 down (Cardiff) in home matches this season before coming back as they've switched off.

Preston are not in brilliant form but were never out of second gear when beating us at their place early in the season, going 2-0 up and then coasting home.
They now, of course, have Darren Ferguson as manager and this is a big game for him. He'll be desperate to win this before nicking all out best players in the summer.

Check this story out...

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/cc_championship/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/10/01/26/SOCCER_Peterborough.html&TEAMHD=nationwide1

That can't be good.

Then there's the injury worries. We have three central defenders all ruled out, which means utility man Charlie Lee will probably partner the talented but raw Ryan Bennett.

As much as Lee is a trier he's not world class and he's only 5'10". I'd be surprised if Ferguson doesn't play Jon Parkin, who's 6'4", against him to get what would be a very one-sided match-up. As well as Danny Wellbeck obv, who's gonna be a serious handful at this level, even for the better defences.

Also there's an injury doubt surrounding George Boyd, who's our best player by far. If he doesn't play, we now have no replacement, as Shaun Batt was shipped out on loan to Millwall this week. Even if he does play, he can't do it all himself.

I don't like backing against my own team but this is too good to miss.

The TD was ?

i would prefer not to mention... som1 else may fill u in... but i dont think that it matter who it was tbh

just the end result that is the issue.. also apparently players have been able to do this months now..sigh...

I witnessed this from the rail - the dealer asked for a ruling, the floor confirmed it could be 700. Everyone questioned it, they comfirmed the ruling and said it had been like that for months. I asked a more senior staff member when they came in - they confirmed it.

I suggested that the rules should be displayed in the card room - they said they were for a while but had been taken down.

I'm pretty sure that when Niall first arrived they had a book behind the desk where all rulings were recorded to make sure that everyone was singing from the same hymn sheet - haven't seen this used for ages.

It was all a bit bizarre.

  • That ruling is pure Billoxi imo.

So at 200/400 I can make it 500?

my standard gay panic raise at the g at 1k/2k is now 37k

FYP.

Trevor Webber last night...Blinds 25-50. I make it 175 utg+1 with 45 diamonds, as one does. TW7 makes it 350. Four ways to the flop, which comes 10 7 2 two clubs.
Checked to TW7 who fires out 3,000 into a pot of around 1,400 leaving back 1,500. He's set all in and turns over a pair of nines.
And that was one of the better efforts witnessed on my table.
Sigh. LOL. FFS.

Just seen the result and payouts on AWOP

Mon, 25 Jan 2010
£30 No Limit Texas Holdem with 1 rebuy OR 1 addon
Entries: 36
Prize Pool: £1790

How does the pot get to be £1,790 and not a multiple of £30?

That's the prob with the format imo.
A few players will have been in for £40, inc me, not being able to take the rebuy and just having the add-on.
I had an all-in moment v a short stack towards the end of level 2 which was irrelevant. If I won I'd have 7,000 and not be able to take the rebuy. If I lost I'd have had around 3,000, then I intentionally donk off 1,000 and take the rebuy back up to 6,000.

Yeah, it's £30/£20/£10.

Guessing someone ill-advisably didn't take an add-on.

Easy to be in for either £30, £50 or £60 in this donkament, hence the figures will never add up that way.
