29 runners actually..... was a grinding night...

Went into the freezeout with 20k despite losing QQ to Johnny plums 10 7...with me dead by he turn on a Bink tastic 3 4 5 6 flop and turn..

was on the back foot early in the freeze out when Johnny P raised up early and was flat called by a returning Quereshi ( the Original WPIL ) I look down at AK SS and decided to pump it enough so JP was playing for his stack.. unfortunately I'd run into the top of JP's range of KK...sigh...

Then mad Greek guy comes and sits to my left with a massive stack.... whose opening raise at 150-300 was 8k...sigh..this was going to be a long night and i prayed for a hand.

Some might call this good aggressive play some might say its a crash waiting to happen..Unfortunately he seemed to have the goods when anyone put him to the test..JP shipping 30k with AK straight into KK and Trevor making a hero call v top pair with 3rd pair..

so several levels of grinding and staying out of the lunatics way ensued which wasn't easy as he regularly shipped towers of yellow across the line on a whim.

as the night wore on and shackled by the Greek version of Papa Smurf i managed to maintain 12 -15 BB...Quershi is doing his usual overbetting the pot massively trying to steal the pot with a marginal...I laugh the third time he does it and tell him straight his only getting called when his losing...in a limped pot i have QJ in the BB..I'm happy to see a flop as Quershi is calling whatever and being op to him on a missed brd is a waste of time. On a Q 5 2 rainbow brd i check to him and he ships his whole stack which is about 9x the pot... LOL..i call and have find Q 3 ..the turn gives a straight draw sweat but he misses and his gone with prophecy ringing in his ears... I really like Quershi, his a real nice guy but poker play...Yeesh...

7 handed I'm trying to pick spots but a succession of 8 3's and Q 4's are not helping...

+1 and A 5 CC look good for a 2.5 raise...i get through smurf city but pick up a young gun who def fancies himself and Chinese George in the BB who decides his going to flat call this coup with AQ..OP with 15 BB...sigh WP sir..  the brd of A Q 7 A.... sees me do well not to go bust...

Going into bubble time I've recovered to my 12 BB station... Chines George makes a smallish raise under the gun and my first instinct is to fold AJ SS...his tighter than a virgin Gnats chuff.... I cant resist and flat call with position over him to see what he does on the flop..this has the adverse effect of bringing the young gun in and the BB...

A flop of A 7 7 two hearts looked promising..but young gun leads,BB ships and George flat calls LOL.... FFS

It doesn't take too long to fold .....the young gun then proceeds to shove and George dwells...his pretty committed at this stage but its not the way his processing the hand...his just thinking what his got not what his against...he finally calls with AJ... and gets show 6 7 cc by young gun and a heart draw by the BB.
The heart comes on the turn and the board doesn't pair and George is gone and we are FT !!

I draw seat 1 and seat 2 is ... Papa smurf !! FFS what are we engaged ? do i have to sit to the right of a loony tune with more chips than McDonald's?  couldn't i have seat 3 and wait Mantis like in the shadows for the inevitable over bet...?  Not a chance.

First hand and I find JJ and ship 13 BB over the top of young guns raise... i noted earlier in the night he opened light when he had to showdown K 8 OS... it didn't take him too long to muck....a couple players fall on their swords fairly early despite play being usual FT tight ( including the Nooninator )...

Then young gun min raises early (ugh) and picks up 3 callers including Smurfetts grandpa..on a 7 7 8 board Papa CR allin on young guns lead...its obv what his got and i give YG QQ...after a big dwell the YG calls for his stack with JJ and gets shown K7...a river Jack is cruel and theres a little youthful celebration..The Blue one takes it well and i cant help liking him..he seems quite a nice guy... I'm looking for spots and ship a couple of time with marginals but finally run A 5 DD into papas AK for 8th spot..no money no points sigh fml LOL...

Summary:

Played fairly well had 3 hands all night and lost with 2 of them and grinded to a FT...... but i like Thursdays..its a good comp with plenty of play so come on down...

I'll be there to witness more hoopy t-shirt-based carnage. Not even the Detroit Lions go oh and seventeen ffs.

You can have 6/4 with me that you cash, minimum bet £1,000, but it has to be an official Grosvenor cash finish, so only the top two if 70-80 turn up.

Sigh - how many changos turn up on a Friday nowadays?  If Chompy can offer 6/4 I'm sure I can safely manage 2/1 against an official place.  Don't bet too much though... I might have to turn up and haunt you.

No results on the system from which to update at the moment unfortunately. Word is Pelham had a third on Wednesday, which takes him away from the tragic cases in the relegation zone. Will re-do the table as soon as poss.
