Hi, New poster.  I play in the same Wed night game as AdamM and bits and pieces online etc.  Have been lurking here for a while but your luck has run out as I have started posting!  Have only played twice at the gala but intend to get down there more in the next few months.

I'm a smoker but I wouldn't mind a smoking ban at all.  I can understand the views of the non-smokers and don't see why us smokers should get to force our habit on them.  As long as suitable smoking facilities are provided near the poker room and we don't have to actually go all the way out of the casino to get a smoke then fine with me.

Phil.

As a reformed smoker (40 a day for over 20 years) I have sympathy for both camps, However I would favour the total ban as in Dublin, The Merrion has a marquee(tent lol) outside for the smokers, and even though it was pi**ing down with rain all the time there were very few complaints, in fact the smokers moaned more about having to go up and down stairs every time than having to go outside for a smoke.

I remember that as a smoker. would stand in any old doorway in any weather and smoke a fag. show me a set of stairs however and I'd be unhappy.

I used to work in an off-license and loved the irony of a smoker flying through the door having run to make closing time and then puffing and wheezing so hard he couldn't ask for their fags. Grin

well you still left out the "not bothered" option but, oh well it's your poll i suppose.

left out on purpose. as I said if you're not bothered you abstain. that's how polls work. why would you want to vote on a topic you're not bothered by?

It doesn't really reflect a poll correctly.
It is not a black and white question, you need some middle ground.
If i asked you if you were in a final with 9/10ths of the chips and you get aces in early position do you A) fold or B) go allin what do you vote?
My point really is i can't vote as i don't fit any option.

no, you said you weren't bothered, then abstain.
If you have an opinion that's not on the list, suggest it and I'll add it.
all the original poll Tikay / Ironside put up wasdesigned to find out was do people want a smoking ban or not. if you don't care, don't vote. if yuo do care, are you a smoker or not, and do you want a ban or not. it covers every base for people that care.
Would you rather there were options like "smoker in favour of ban, provided there was a smoking area no more than 50 yards from card room, with scheduled breaks in the comp every hour"
I'm loving the frog pic too, nice 1
