Pascal Perrault is the 5th place finsher winning £4,000

Pascal raises from the button. Stuart Fox moves over the top. Pascal calls all-in.

Pascal turns over

Stuart shows

Board = As

Micky is delighted to have finished further in the comp than Pascal. His postition at the top of the rankings looks to be safe for the time being.

At one point, I recall Micky saying, and I quote, 'If Pascal goes out before me, I'll run round the casino naked.'

Argh!!!

We're all doooooomed...

tikay here.

Micky's tenacity to hang in there really is diferent gravy. I commented earlier on that pass he made, to leave himself 33k, & his short stack skills, & once again, he's been proven correct in his judgement. Fair play to him, he looks in good shape now to win the Rankings. Dave Colclough called this morning from Belfast to wish Good Luck to Mickey & Pascal, yet another example that our game really does have plenny of nice guys in it.

So, 4 left here. Been SOME Final, this one!

It's quite extraordinary how Micky Wernick is able to pass hands - big hands sometimes - when other folks would feel they were pot-committed.

Time & time again, he lays down hands after getting re-popped, but somehow he clings in. He must be just about THE greatest short-stack player around today.
Agreed that Mickey is a great short stack player, but I feel in that situation it was a must call

Would that still me the case if you take into account the rankings situation?

ie in this case survival could have a higher EV than normal.

I hear what you say I Know It, but tonight is about Points, not Pounds, & Micky is playing for Points & Points alone. The Rankings means more to him that the £10k that goes with it, the Sponsorship Fairy is lurking. I honestly think that Micky is NOT bothered about the Prize Money tonight - just the points. On that basis, it makes his Pass correct. as it turns out.

And like Bongo says, he has an effective last longer with Pascal! for £10,000 so even financially its not a bad fold.

Stuart Fox has added a chunk to his stack after pushing Stephen Lennon off a hand in a battle of the blinds battle.

I believe Fox raised, Lennon reraised, Fox moves all-in.

After the kings v aces hands from earlier, Stuart Fox has kept his composure and seems to be steadily rebuilding a stack. Still a force...

Mrs Red says "I'll have him"

tikay here.

Chip Counts are THUS

Stuart Fox 330k. Nice comeback.

Stephen Lennon 100k. Never had chips, but never been in danger.

Micky Wernick 100k. The ultimate cling-on. He just told me he has never, in his entire Poker career, experienced as much pressure as tonight.

Gilbert Butler 370k. Terrific performance against vastly more experienced players.

Mickey knows exactly what he is doing.  He never misses a move or an angle. I'm sure the Pass was justified...especially if he lands himself a 100k sponsorship deal next year

Stephen Lennon is the 4th Place finisher winning £5,700k

It was a batlle of the shorties in the end. (stack size not physical height)

Lennon's raise from the small blind was reraised all-in by Micky Wernick who was putting Lennon to a decision for all his chips. Both had about the same, but Micky just pipped him on the chip count.

After a lot of umming and arring, Lennon opted to gamble with his .

He must have been delighted to see Micky turn over Two Clubs two hearts and relieved to be involved in a coin flip.

Board came three clubs

Micky makes a straight and virtually doubles up.

3 left...
