Here's where we'll put all the info., queries and everything else to do with the team event in January.  

The APAT Team Event -
The APAT UK Team Championship will be played at the G Casino in Manchester on January 23rd / 24th, 2010, with play starting at 2.30pm on both days.

The format will see 20 poker communities from all over the United Kingdom compete for the prestigious title.  Included in the field will be Bristol & South West Meetup, the reigning APAT United Kingdom Team Champions and Mary Martin, last year's individual Championship winner.

The format for the event will be a 10,000 chip, 160 runner, multi table freezeout, with a 45 minute clock.  As with all APAT events, the UK Team Championship will be registration free for members and have a £50 buy in per player.  Each team will feature 8 players, kitted out in their team colours.  Points will be awarded to the top forty finishers to determine the Team Championship.

The prize money will be split 50% / 50% between the Team and Individual Championship.  In addition, the owner of the winning Team will receive an added prize of £1,000 and the Championship Cup, while the winner of the Individual Championship will receive an entry to a GUKPT main event and the Championship Gold Medal.  These added value prizes are courtesy of tour sponsor Blue Square Poker.

I phoned the hotel enquiring about a group booking earlier this evening.  Sure is a good deal.  The 'deal' was £69 B&B for 1 person and £79 B&B for 2 people...provided we had at least 10 bookings.  They also wanted me to sign a contract to get said 'deal'.  I may have been able to push the pricing issue a bit if I was willing to sign a contract.  However, I've been stuck for the bill in the past (non-blonde related) when signing a group contract so obviously reluctant to take that risk again.        

Soooooooooo, you're on your own and getting a better price into the bargain provided you book at least 21 days in advance iirc.
