Nothing today.

If you were absolutely desperate for a bet Canadian Blaze 2.15 Catterick fits most of the criteria, but there are 2 or 3 too many runners to make it perfect.

I won't update this every day from now on, just when there's a bet.

1/2 fav then 3/1

then 13/1

looks good to me?

if any of you lot can get decent bets on these bad e/w races then you have been doing it wrong.

Trigg is right, but anything up to £100 ew the bookies will sigh a little bit, shrug their shoulders a bit.

Only if you try and get £500+ on will you struggle.

That's not true for everyone though Mr Camel.
A lot of accounts are changed to win only, while others capped at, say, £25 each-way.
I haven't used any of my fixed odds accounts for ages but still wouldn't fancy my chances at being able to get £100 each-way on a second-fav behind an odds-on jolly.

Shops are easily your best bet for this kind of bet.  Online they will cut you down very quickly although I did hear of a punter that was backing the jolly each way in races like this (which also has value on occasions) with Hills and lasted a long time.  Avoid BetFred and Corals shops in general and, if possible, spread it about a bit.  Below £25 e/w if okay at any shop.  They are also not great at understanding which races the advantages are in.  For example there are very few places that won't take a big bet on a 16/17 runner handicap but an 8 runner race with a 1/4 jolly and 9/2 second in is always going to be a struggle for anything more than £25 e/w and I have been knocked back for that before.

Chomps, I was mostly talking about the shops.

Obviously if you pound one account with this sort of bet on the phone or net you will quickly get knocked back.

Keith

I believe a similar system was used by the successful pro punter Alex Bird back in the day?

Always backed second favourites e/w in non-handicap stakes races on the flat, as long as e/w 1st three applied

I have his autobiography which I am trying to dig out with no joy so far that explains it

Rich,

I wouldn't be surprised. Especially as in those days it was 1/4 odds a place all races.

12 runners just too many to make it perfect.

However at the off it was trading at 1.33 - 1.34 in the place market on betfair. Getting an each way bet on @ 7/2 meant you were getting 1.7 about the place part of the bet. So obviously it was great value.

I went to Catterick (had a tip for a horse in a nother race) and the on course bookies were offering 1/7th the odds a place on this race!

Yeah, it was never really travelling. Looked like something was amiss.

Lifetime I am way further ahead at poker (problably won 3 times more playing poker)

But obv much more variance at poker than sports and horse race betting, had a couple of losing years at poker (this year would have been worst ever without wsope) but never had a losing year at sports.

Plus I enjoy sports betting more than poker except for the absolutely biggest tournaments of the year.

And the poker games are way way way harder than they were when I started.

Even the bad players are good nowadays.

Cheers Keith.

You are obv a shrewd bettor (sp?) but do you have a lot more bets than you should have because of how much fun it is or is it purely a professional moneymaking attitude you take towards it?

Are my questions annoying?

Are you sure?

Shall I stop now?

Will do, but i do not want to put anyone off Keiths system, once you are on a single system you should rigidly stick to it and not sway else you will end up strongly cursing, been there .
